  It is no longer a “requirement” by law to inform the officer that you are armed immediately upon detention.(traffic stop). It is, however, a really good idea to do so.

  To set the record straight, it “is” legal to carry a long gun (rifle) openly in Texas, as long as you are not showing a threatening action. I guess this is at the officers discretion. Most cops I know and have met, are straight-up people. This just another case of the minority overruling the majority.

  You say “Live and let live”, then, what is wrong with the people wanting access to other opinions. All these cable companies only, for the most part, give us a single choice, one side of the argument. People deserve to know the truth about what is going on in this country, and if you think that the media choice we have is telling you the whole truth, I feel sorry for you.   I wonder if they realize what they are doing. Not only have they trampled on the second amendment, but these laws will turn some law-abiding people into criminals. A lot of folks will get their guns by “other means” to avoid these background checks simply because they feel it is not the government’s business as to whether they own a firearm or not. They have inadvertently created another black market.
