  • Maybe we need more Mel Brooks’ movies (less some potty humor) to remind people to lighten up.

  • @TGAYLE: with respect, I would like to point out a couple of things:

    1. In Luke 8:27, it says the man had been naked a while and was possessed by demons. The implication is that at one point he did wear clothes. Later in 8:35, it speaks of the man being clothed and in his right mind. Would it not be logical to conclude that Jesus did not address the matter of clothes because the man himself knew the need for them?

    2. In Matthew 23, the Pharisees are called hypocrites for enlarging their garments as a way to promote self and be prideful. Certainly there is a lesson in there not to wear clothes in an effort to show off (which also agrees with 1 Timothy 2:9). Can we not look here and conclude that Jesus was in fact warning to beware of how you dress in general when it lifts up self above others? Is not a skimpy outfit a way of doing just that? Does not 1 Corinthians 4:6 warn about lifting up self above others?

  • @ERIC CART MAN – exactly… many reps no longer care what we think. They only care as much as it takes to get re-elected. They’re trying to make our votes irrelevant and turn us into peasants. All the more reason we need to vote every last elitist out (in any party) in 2014 before we can’t anymore.

  • I know I posted this in another article recently. But, more and more I think the quote is relevant:

β€œAbout the Declaration there is a finality that is exceedingly restful. It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern. But that reasoning cannot be applied to this great charter. If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction cannot lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers.”

This professor is not more progressive, he is in fact, more regressive!

  • To this professor, I simply quote Calvin Coolidge on the matter:

“About the Declaration there is a finality that is exceedingly restful. It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern. But that reasoning can not be applied to this great charter. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers.”

  • If the vulnerability is in Java itself, that has nothing to do with your operating system. Java runs on multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, etc.) and is pretty pervasive in its use. That’s part of what makes this a concern.

  • Hey everyone! I know we’re all concerned about the FBI looking at our emails. But, I want us to consider another important topic at this time of year…

I want you to remember this winter season to cover up. Don’t write off the need for good protection against the cold. It should be illegal to treat this matter as a grey area. It is almost not ethical to say that nobody will find out. If you are someone without adequate winter clothes, do not volunteer information to us about it, just go purchase some! Even if you must do so “off the books” in your personal budget, it is most certainly not a failed investment. And please don’t wait for the Red Cross to send some your way thinking, “They owe it to me.” We’re all responsible for our own winter protection!

  • WARMUNGER_AL: it works because they don’t understand what capitalism is. No one really taught them correctly and they didn’t bother to look it up. It’s ignorance plain and simple.

  • It amazes me how many people are siding with this woman. The issue is not that she escaped the robber. That is a small detail in the matter. The issue is that she violated company policy designed for her safety. It doesn’t matter if she needed to stay and do managerial things that the other employee did not need to do. Whether you liked Arby’s before this or not, don’t blame them for HER failure.

  • It is private property run by a private business. Even as messed up as America is currently, this ought to be an open-shut case in favor of the farm owners. This is not denying access to necessities of life, this is denying a venue. There are plenty of other venues to which these women can go. Despicable.
