Middle School Changes Policy After Student Sent to Office for Wearing ‘Support Our Troops’ T-Shirt…on an Army Base
April 25, 2013 at 1:38pm
Skunk, I was an army wife for 20 years. Neither my husband, nor any of the many dozens of people we knew serving with him, wanted to go to war or to kill anyone. Soldiers are “willing” to go to war if required to protect their families and their country, from countries who threaten us or our allies. In my day, communism was the threat, (sadly, today it still is, only from within) – the soldiers today are “volunteers” of course, but I’ll bet you half of them volunteered cause they were in need of a job, and because they wanted the education that can come with service in the military. The rest are probably heroes who ARE willing to die for us if necessary – but they still would rather not go to war and/or kill anyone. The atrocities you mention happen in every war, on every side, from every country, and are always rare. NOT the norm. War is the most extreme stressor. People lose their sanity in war. Mistakes in judgement are made. You probably have lots of compassion for gays, for underprivilged people etc., why not have some for our soldiers and their families. Families pay a price too! I am JUST barely able to refrain from calling you something nasty.

Thank you for a clear portrait, of what could have been, and what isn’t. When he was elected in spite of my grave concerns about his “record” and lack of experience and the many promises he made while campaigning (I’ll make electricity too expensive to afford, I’ll kill the coal mining business, this country needs and internal army) – I hoped he would be the one to settle racial differences once and for all. That maybe he WAS the “brilliant” person the leftists think he is. I am utterly distressed by who he really is and what he had done to our country. The issue of race alone, once nearly dead, is more alive than ever in my 63 year long life. Terribly sad.

Pouring water to great discomfort, but far from death (our own soldiers and CIA people go through it themselves in training) is a far cry from beating to the point of blood and broken bones, and starving people. Guantanamo is a luxury hotel compared to this situation. Bush and Cheney – when will you ever accept the truth, and stop blaming them for everything wrong in the world? Oh yeah, I know, when what Obummer is doing to us underhandedly (and even openly) now, becomes undeniably real. Even then, you’ll be crying about Pres. Bush… Please, try – try to get real.

Lovesorchids, You should be honored if they discontinue your account. Sadly, our nation, led by Washington and liberals, has allowed that kind of “art” to contaminate our lives, mislead our children, and disrespect our religion. I believe part of balancing the budget would include no longer supporting the Arts, which often include sacrilegious works, foul language and worse – and are supported by taxpayer dollars. Let’s get real!

We lived without Facebook before. What will happen to Facebook if conservatives, who believe in freedom of speech with responsibility LEAVE Facebook and share e-mails instead. Let’s not support another Liberal organization which deletes the TRUTH and calls it racist or inappropriate.
