Kansas: Sperm donor should pay child support
January 5, 2013 at 8:29am
A man helped a lesbian couple conceive a child, without compensation, apparently (not that it matters). The presumption was that the couple would step up and care for the child, since that’s the choice THEY made. Parenthood comes with responsibility. When things got tough, suddenly the couple is no longer composed of two responsible adults, just two children who go running to an attorney to help them extort financial help from the donor. It’s contemptible.
Here’s Why This Constitutional Law Professor Thinks America Should ‘Give Up the Constitution’

The principles on which the Constitution is based have bearing on EVERY living person.

JUSTMEHERE_01, I understand what you’re saying. There are some people who think that by reading a lot of books, they become an expert about other people’s lives. In fact, you’re the only expert on the planet concerning your own life, and I’m the only expert in mine. The same goes for every other individual. The problem is that there are some so-called intellectuals that are insecure control freaks, or power hungry climbers, and they don’t like the fact that they can’t tell you what to do. This is a problem that requires constant vigilance. Those who want to own other people never seem to sleep.

JustMeHere_01, this is about a lot of things, including the founders and their intentions. That being said, I don’t disagree with your points.

The founders/framers didn’t possess divine powers, but they had the wisdom to see self-evident truths and the courage to write them down. They knew that those truths held everywhere and for all time – in 1776 and into the future. The Constitution is based on those simple philosophical foundations, and that remains the reason why the Constitution is still valid.
Never forget the Declaration.
Church vs. State: Atheist Furor Rages Over School Trip to Church’s Production of ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’

TERESAJ, I should have worded the tax comment more clearly. The school itself is supported by taxes, and they are taking this trip on school time.
That being said, I agree with you about the Charlie Brown show, the message, and most of all, about being sick of the school system in general. It seems to be geared toward creating good little obedient citizens, and not nurturing the individual gifts of each student. Schools should be helping students think independently and not encouraging group think.
Church vs. State: Atheist Furor Rages Over School Trip to Church’s Production of ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’

PURAVIDA56, I’m actually playing a bit of a Devil’s advocate here. I’m ok with my kids going to the play, as long as kids have an opt out, which they apparently do. I also have good reason to believe the earth is very old and that biological evolution is a fact because of the physical evidence. Exposing kids to all the evidence and ideas that you can is the right way to go. Let them explore the science. Let them learn about all types of religion. Allow them to make up their own minds.

You’re dodging, Dad. Something tells me your answer is no, you would not support it in that case, but please correct me if you like.

What if the Charlie Brown video contained references to Islam in a positive way? Would you feel okay with your tax money going to fund an excursion of that kind?
Texas Student Successfully Defies ‘Total Surveillance State,’ Citing ‘Mark of the Beast’
November 25, 2012 at 4:57pm
Cofemale, I have a badge for work too, to get into and out of various areas. This is for protection of company assets and to ensure protection of company security. Having a student wear a badge with tracking capability is an altogether different situation. No integrity of proprietary assets or safekeeping of organizational secrets is involved here. It’s strictly for surveillance of the student, and it’s wrong.
