Miniature horses were bred to pull carts in coal mines, same as some breeds of pony. Modernly they can be harnessed to pull buggies, there are competions like dressage, but involving a buggies and driver. They are tough little horses.

The melting pot vanished when the race baiters got into office. It’s sounds strange, but I grew up in the 80s, and I honestly don’t remember being picked on for making black friends (by other blacks) until I got into high school -during the Clinton years. I don’t think that’s just a coincidence.

I truly hope that’s the case.

If they climbed on the hood of his car first, the man had a legitimate fear for his life.

Hate to say it but every company is doing that now. I hold three jobs to make ends meet. I’m not complaining, I understand they are doing this because the onerous government regulations (read Affordable Care Act) means that if they want to turn a profit they have to find a way to make more money than they are spending to feed the government. You want to make a real difference in the life of underapperciated workers? Repeal minimum wage, institute a flat tax, and do away with the ACA and the stupid interstate commerce clause that makes at person HAVE to buy insurance in the state they live in. If you do that you’ll not only unleash the American economy, you’ll give back the flat playing field where people like me who go the extra mile can be rewarded for those actions.

As the daughter of a free Mason and Eastern Star couple I take exception to that. I’ve snuck a peek at the ritual books, there’s nothing evil about passages from the Bible and developing a ritual around them to teach the values of hard work, protecting your family and community. That those groups let any denomination in their ranks should be further proof that secret shouldn’t equate ‘evil’. Besides, with the way the government is going after the religious, might they not have a legit reason for wishing to keep things secret?

Who are they supposed to be working for in Qatar? It looks to me like a follow the money situation. I feel bad for them, they obviously thought they were going to make life better go their kids.

Obviously you don’t live in the real world or you would have noticed how every time a conservative says something true but unpleasant they end up being the ones who have to apologize.

And UNLIKE most Dems, they DON’T get promoted for ruffling feathers and failing.

Uighurs are Turkmenistani Muslims. Ethnically they are Chinese, but follow the Turkmenistani flavor of Islam. The Chinese government hates them almost as much as they hate the Tibetan Buddhists.

I live in Portland. The police allow it for the simple reason that Portland city council doesn’t allow them to enforce certain traffic laws. The bike protesters called Critical Mass have free reign to stop traffic.

Pearl S. Buck wrote ‘The Good Earth’ and many other stories about the Chinese peasants. She didn’t write ‘Silent Spring’, Rachel Carson did.

    I see your sarcasm.

    @ Ida

I’ve seen an increasing number of schools adopt a policy of prohibiting parents to send lunches with their children as a means of artificially inflating the number of students receiving free lunches. It means more money for the teachers unions.

That’s what I wondered, would the Ferguson decision be presented then. Is he trying to ignite race riots? There are fools out there that will fall for it.

What about a of our voters who sat out the election?

And they are sending thousands of their children to our colleges. I returned to PSU after a ten year absence, and was frankly amazed and disturbed by the number of women running around in head to toe black bedsheets. I even heard one of them claim to not have taken a single test since coming to America, and making the Dean’s List because she paid other people to take the tests for her. When I asked the Dean of students why this sort of cheating was permitted, she told me there was nothing they could do to prevent it because it wasn’t culturally sensitive to ask her to remove her veil. I have very little respect for anyone who acts like that, Saudi princess or American (PC idiot) Dean.
