  You can sit there and call me every name in the book. You live in fear of something that will never happen to most of you. And you totally misunderstand your own Constitution. NO ONE IS COMING FOR YOUR GUNS. Just limiting access. You have armed forces and that is the MILITIA the Constitution references. I am not saying gun laws work 100% of the time but the fact is that they work. And the US is the only developed nation that seems too scared or too stupid to get that.

  You can tell me the numbers are crap. They are not. So go on collecting guns and living in fear. You have no idea how ridiculous and backwards you all seem to the rest of the world.

  You can one-off stories all day.The simple fact is that gun control works.Not perfect but it works.And stop selling the garbage that Obama is trying to take ALL your guns.Because he isn’t.He’s trying to limit WHAT you can buy.All the evidence proves it out.The US is the ONLY developed country without weapons bans.

  You all act like your society is under constant and perpetual threat.It isn’t.There are no terrorists at your door. Your government is NOT coming to get you.Crime happens but not as much as you and the media make it out to be.Stop acting scared of everything.The media plays up all the craziness so it seems like anarchy but let’s face it, unless you live in slums where crime is significantly higher, you really are not under this level of threat.This is supposed to be a civilized society. And yes, there are bad people around. But they aren’t breaking into all your houses every day.They aren’t shooting up the local Denny’s every Saturday.You are all convinced that the world is ready to take you down. It isn’t.

  Same tv shows, same movies, same games.Why?Because we have those limits in place.Canadians own rifles and hand guns.But we don't act like something is going to happen every two seconds.We don't live in fear of what is most unlikely.And we don't feel the need to be armed to the teeth against what 'might' happen.

  It is really sad to see such a bunch of rabid ‘shoot first, ask questions later’ people on here. I’d like to know if the guy was armed. If not, why would he not apprehend instead of killing. Some facts before you make this guy a hero would be nice.

  NHWINTER – What does what Canada spent matter to your debt? We spent lots on Afghanistan. You may remember Canadian troops took over care of Khanduhar for several years.

  To the many who said there are workable solutions. Workable means bi partisan and means right and left vote together, House and Senate. Proposals are everywhere. Nothing is going to work unless both sides work together. That isn’t Obama’s fault. It is just the GOP’s fault and it isn’t just the Dems fault. It’s both sides fault. You want solutions? Ask your GOP reps to work with the Dems instead of blaming Obama and the Dems til the cows come home.

  SEEDS12 – I have never used a food stamp and never collected unemployment in my life. I have worked my whole life. So stuff your attitude that Libs are lazy. Half your country isn’t lazy – there are lots of lazy folks on the right and left. Just far fewer than the politicos would like you to believe.

  And sorry to burst your Reagan bubble folks. He raised taxes a lot if you check his record. Instead of listening to the media drivel from wither side, try researching some facts. The news orgs on the right and left are corrupt and not looking out for you. Journalism – the presentation of facts without bias, is almost impossible to find but can be done.

  Should the President mention every single US serviceman/woman who dies? If so, when is he supposed to lead. He either mentions all or none. Too many dead heroes. Easy to be outraged over one or two but where is the line.

  If you want to be informed and make proper decisions on what the truth really is, you cannot stick to a single source, particularly if that source has a clear bias. It’s not just this site, or FoxNews but also MSNBC, CNN. Most of what they consider journalism is simply punditry. You need multiple sources from multiple places to get a clear view.
  And don’t be afraid to look outside the US. You get a different perspective when you are looking at it from the outside. CBC is Canada tends to do the best journalism. BBC. The major US networks. Just don’t stick to a side when getting information. For me it’s all about being able to decide what’s closest to the truth.
  Obviously that would take a lot of time for every news story. Do it for the stories that matter most. And when someone says crazy things, question it. When people talk about Obama as tyrant or coming for all your guns, that’s extreme. Question it. We live in a completely disfunctional society and the media has been corrupted. Finding reality is difficult since there is so much bias. Journalism is supposed to be about stepping back, giving information without bias. That is very difficult to find. The media is supposed to be on our side. That doesn’t happen any more.

  A completely different perspective does not mean the right perspective. Sad that such misinformation and outright lies get spread by this man. I wonder of anyone realizes how much money this man makes out of whipping people into a frenzy over craziness.

  I miss the days when the right, Republicans, actually wanted to help the country. The days when parties worked together for the greater good. Where the balance between conservative values and social needs existed. Now we have a bunch of mouthpieces on both sides spouting lies and living in the blind world of punditry. That anyone would support this man’s insanity when you are simply making a very rich man richer, is beyond me.
