  • I am sure that if this precious boy was a ‘gay’ teen who was being bullied, who got beat so bad that the injuries suffered would have then led to his death, the MSM would be all over covering it 24/7. of course he was bullied, but sadly I don’t think we’re going to see the story of his life and death on CNN or MSNBC!! They only seem to care if the bullying victim were gay.

  • I have known Devin Graham for over 25 years and went to church with him until I got married and moved away. Our parents are good friends too. Nearly 7 years ago, he made my brother and sister in-law’s wedding video, and did a nice job, but we had no idea just what kind of work he’d be doing with his film making, or the kind of fame he would be getting! He is a great guy and it has been so exciting the past year to see the kind of success and fame that he’s received! He deserves it all, and will not be surprised if he becomes one of the best action film directors!!

  • I am a born and raised Oregonian, and the Clackamas Town Center has been the mall that I’ve been shopping at all my life. It is sad to think of a place that we go on pretty regular basis could be the scene of such horror. I just took my kids there last weekend to visit Santa and to see a movie.Yet, I know that God was watching out for many others. I have many friends and family comment on FB saying how they almost were going to go there, or were there earlier in the day and left before the madness occurred. I even know several that were there while the mall was in lockdown and said they were there and were brought to safety thanks to the store workers that were there. It is actually amazing to me the hear that over 60 rounds were shot off, and yet the amount of those that lost their lives, or were wounded was actually far less.

  • Why is anyone surprised?? This is a life long New York resident, and he’s just show how he was raised and live in a city that is so liberal, that he just can’t help it! If he had spoken Against OWL, then I would have been shocked! I do believe him when he says that his comments were taken out of context, just like what happened to Hank Williams Jr!
I actually do watch his new talk show he is doing with other fellow chefs on The Chew (I DVR it everyday), and I find him far more likeable and open than he has ever done on a solo cooking show.
Food Network is based out of NY too, and I am not surprised if most of the chefs on their channel are more liberal thinking. They just can’t help it if they are living and working in such a liberal city and state. After all, They do hire and show Sandra Lee, who is the girlfriend of the governor right now!

  • I only go to Yahoo! For my daily news updates, and of course for my email!! I don’t use Google, Bing, or any of the other search engines. In Fact, Yahoo! Is my home page!! Glad to see that they are going to be partnering with all the other great resources, including The Blaze!!

  • Trunk or Treating has been happening for about 10-15 years. And, not all congregations have them, since it is based on how the leaders of each one choose to celebrate this time of year. In one ward, the bishop didn’t care for Halloween, so we had a Harvest activity with a chili feed instead. That went on for about 3 years until the leaders were changed and the new ones brought back the trunk or treating. I know growing up as a kid in the church, we used to have parties inside the church with games, costume judging, treats to eat. But I think for about 15 years, that was changed for the kids to have an outdoor activity, since trick or treating is an outdoor activity.

  • For those that would like to understand how we do the ‘Trunk or Treat”, it is for the children to come to the church, and they go trick or treating from car to car in the parking lot for a fun, safe, church activity together. Parents come to bring the kids and enjoy conversing with the other ward members, but the activity is for the children to attend. The way that they worded ‘Cross-Dressing’ didn’t mean true, real life cross dressers weren’t invited, nor couldn’t come, but as a costume suggestion for those who are dressing up to not come dressed as the other gender. For those girls that want to be ‘Harry Potter’ there is Hermoine, who is a girl character, but wear the same clothes as the boys, except for a black skirt instead of pants, so that reference was not the right one. For the one poster above who asked “so girls that want to be Buzz Lightyear is not permitted to come”, I don’t know any girls, or have ever seen a girl want to be or dressed up as Buzz Lightyear. Most girls choose to be a Disney Princess or other ‘pretty’ costume, and boys like superheroes or classic scary costumes. There are also rules on no masks, fake blood, or other ‘scary’ images for the kids to see. That has been a rule for the church for as long as I can remember and I’m 33.
For those they interviewed, they are not members of our faith, so I find it curious as to why they were so offended by it when it wasn’t an activity that they were invited to, or was planning to attend.

  • Jeopardy Superstar Ken Jennings Joins the ‘99%’

    October 28, 2011 at 9:51am

    In reply to MrsNix.

Thank you, I so agree that he is making a mockery of the movement, not actually being serious. He has used his Jeopardy success very well and and used his success to his best advantage. I agree about some of the those that post here on the comment boards. Some of these people need to grow a brain too, some are just wacko! How any truly believes that Jennings is serious and not making as silly joke is just plain stupid!

  • I think that Ken is making a joke about the whole movement, not actually feeling like he is among the ’99%’. From the earnings he won on Jeopardy, he would, in their eyes, be apart of the 1%, so I think he is poking fun at them. His face may look serious and depressing, but read the what he wrote and it is obviously a jab against those people and trying to make fun of it.
People don’t need to take things so seriously!!

  • Wow, Bill Maher is an idiot and doesn’t have a clue what he is talking about! We regard Jesus Christ as the head of the church, hence our name The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints. In fact, on all of our church buildings and temples, his name is in capitol letters so that his name stands out among the name and therefore, those visiting will know that our beliefs are that of his teachings and that he is the head of the church. What would Bill Maher know anyway, he is an Atheist and doesn’t understand how anyone can have a belief in God and therefore spends the majority of this life putting down those that do!
