The officer has every right to protect his fellow officers, and with an arrest in progress with a group of "bystanders", one armed with a camera, things could have gone really bad really fast for the officers. Are they not allowed to protect themselves as they see fit? There was no threat, just precaution. And you know these people were unarmed how?
possibly you need to understand the reason for the gun in the first place. it is there to be used if the owner is threatened or intimidated. the thugs only had to go inside, yet chose as so many do, to put pride before thought. the house had all the makings of another decade or two of state paid issues. it had a fugative from justice, a baby momma and a bunch of thugs. was that public housing? were they on public assistance? how come they were all home during the day, don't they work. waiting on stupid liberal comments now...........
Re: “Are they not allowed to protect themselves as they see fit?” – No, for they are not exempt from the law, in this case, assault with a firearm. There’s a reason why we don’t allow officers to point firearms at citizens whenever they want, the April 1776 thing.
Re: "go inside" - Not a valid nor lawful command on the mans property. You don't get to make up rules as you go along.
@ Aya, "Are they not allowed to protect themselves as they see fit?" NO. They have to obey the law just like everybody else. A camera is not a threat. The SCOTUS has ruled on this. As long as you are at least 8 feet away, you cannot be considered interfering. He had no valid reason to point his weapon in the direction of that guy. Be ready? yes, keep a close eye on him? absolutely. Point his weapon? No way. Turn on the light? No, that's a big deal, it's considered an offensive act. I certainly would consider that a threat. Having said all that, the LEO was just being a jerk, he's obviously a smart azz. Turning on his light proves that. Happens every day. There are bigger things to worry about.

another left wing state with a school shooting. I’m sure little Johnny was upset about something not going his way and dealt with like a good socialist. A product of receiving an award for just showing up.
Years ago Roseburg was far from a Left Wing area. Timber was king back then and the loggers who lived in the area were a tough and resourceful bunch. There were also lots of small farms in the area.
Now because of environmental regulations, the county has been struggling because timber revenues have all but disappeared.
We live in a different world now. Removing God from our culture has resulted in mass shootings, insane acts and callousness toward life.
Condolences and prayers to the people of Roseburg.
God help us all.

All gave some, some gave all. We sacrificed so much for these people. I sure we all ask ourselves, Why?

Maybe its time for the Governor to look into withholding state funds from these far left cities.

These people (libs) need to be put on a mental illness watch list. If they cannot see that harvesting baby body parts is wrong then they are a danger to society.

Its not just the schools. I was sick and went to a clinic and was interviewed by the person doing the paper work and was asked many question like do I wear a seat belt when driving, ETC. and if I had a gun, was it loaded, in a lock box, how many. Told them it was none of their business.
How about when you take your kid to the doctor and (while you're in the room with your child), the nurse asks your kid if she's ever been abused by her parents. This is beyond rude. It's overstepping the boundaries of civility and privacy. We're now in the realm of control and intimidation of an entire population.
I already have an answer ready if my doctor (or anyone else) asks me if I own guns...
"Do you own any guns?"
"Tell you what, before I answer that, why don't you tell me your wife's bra size and what her favorite sexual position is?"
"That's none of your business!"
"Bingo! Whether or not I own any guns is none of yours, or the governments, business."
a question often asked in fl of people who have been ill , paraphrasing it but di you ever want to end it, if you in a disgusted mood you say yes and have ins and the hospital mental ward has opening, many get the 72 hour mental evaluation also happened to a you tube prepper in TN

When ideology clash there is no compromise. One bows to the other or they keep fighting. There is a saying about if you cannot change their minds then put a bullet thru it. This has been used for centuries when dealing with Islam and it worked to keep them out of the west. If it works don’t fix it.
