I would have been offended on behalf of the child. Remember when the one customer griped about a special needs child being in the restaurant and the server told him he would not wait on him? And how we applauded the server? Same thing. I don’t buy it was a joke. I do buy that it wasn’t meant for the customer to see.

In a partial birth abortion, something like this is done because that is what is accessible prior to full birth. But I do not agree that women are necessarily under general anesthesia. That would require an anesthesiologist and could not be done by a high school student. Gosnell would have had many more than one woman dying on him if he had used general anesthesia. Tiller had women deliver into a toilet. His WEB SITE stated in so many words that “drugs will be given to your baby” to ensure the baby is not born alive.
Gosnell … I think there is a reason he collected feet and it’s one any FBI profiler could tell you.

The same way my one co-worker mentioned in passing that he was gay. Everybody knows I am heterosexual: I talk about my husband all the time. Nobody knows any X-rated details. “Homosexuality” means sexual attraction for A PEER of the same sex. It is not pedophilia. The person professing their sexuality among young boys would himself be one of those young boys. Even a homosexual Scoutmaster- which they did not allow- would be no more dangerous than a heterosexual high school teacher to his female students or a man to his daughters. Most people- gay or straight- recognize that some people are just off limits.

@independent4233 The vote was genuine. I get mailers from the Human Rights Campaign and at least according to those, it was a genuine campaign. I would have voted for it in a heartbeat. I believe “morally straight” does not mean “morally heterosexual”. That said, I believe the SBC practically HAVE TO sever ties. The only way they could tolerate a gay person is if that person were gay in the sense of an AA member being an alcoholic, as any AA member will say they are.
Still, I think the BSA was right to do this. Otherwise maybe we put the Girl Scouts in head scarves to not offend certain faiths (not all of them Muslim). I believe a Christian can tolerate openly gay persons the same way they (I am not one) tolerate Buddhists. Like contraception for Catholics or a cheeseburger for observant Jews, it’s a sin but not wrong. But until the SBC becomes convinced of that, they have to do what they have to do and I respect that.

So the admin caved. Verbally anyway- if you believe. But what about those of us who don’t buy ink by the barrel? Are they wanting to meet with True the Vote or Z Street to say they won’t bring the FBI down on conservatives anymore? Were I the press, I would be affronted. They should say (and most did) that they are not taking off the yellow star until nobody has to wear one.

This is just like him. He does things like this without a lot of publicity. Just like when after Ft. Hood he drove many miles to speak to survivors and didn’t tell the press. To paraphrase Dexter, he has something Obama does not and that’s class. I wonder how many times Obama has visited Walter Reed? Bush used to go regularly. Without publicity.
