It’s the person’s who added his time and efforts into making the spot useful. No one could part there until he changed it from a pile of snow to a parking place.

To use it when he created the value of the available spot is nothing short of theft.

Just because the street is a “public road” does not make the spot a public utility.

    Yes.

Utah’s women could vote within a few months of Wyoming’s, but the federal government took that right away because those women did not vote the way the feds wanted them to: i.e., they did not want to get rid of Plural Marriage as most people expected them to, most people, that is, who did not live in Utah.

Never put your faith in the federal government (not in any government at all — they’re all corrupt). Freedom is always a better option than laws.

The sarcastic and ugly remarks are directed to the hospital, Planned unParenthood, and StemExpress, not to the parents.

Without a doubt the same people who’ve made the remarks you find distasteful feel strongly that the parents deserved much better than the hospital give them. And, also without doubt, the hospital (or one of its “workers”) has profited from this atrocity in exactly the way implied here so often.

Yes, the parents need to know that they have the support of millions who’ve read their story. They have mine. The hospital, PuP and SE need to know that we’re on to them.

We know your question is rhetorical.

    We know the answer.

We know that the phony “compassion” of Progressives is crocodile tears, that they all believe, in their hearts, that the government is the only source of good, and that taxes are just a form of justice.

How do you arrive at the conclusion she’s a phony?

Do you know that she voted to fund Planned unParenthood? Do you have any evidence that she does ANYTHING that might be seen as supporting it herself?

She’s a good person, a fine lady, and seh derserves our support.

    While that’s true, it’s misleading.

They could count their viewers on two hands, but don’t forget, they’d be using one of those hands to count ON, the other to count WITH.

Indeed, they could, but ON THE WHOLE, police perform a needed function. (Whether the government should provide it is another question, but that’s grist for another mill.)

There are (at least) three areas where police have major issues with public support: 1) The drug war has made more criminals than all violent crimes of the last five centuries. But, for the vast majority of cases, the “crime” is against oneself, and no one else.
    2) Undue violence in stopping, questioning, arresting, interrogating, and handling suspects and criminals. Most people are submissive when stopped, even the most innocent and the most guilty.
    3) Self importance. An old Superman comic had an alternative Superman whose theory was “the public should fear law enforcement.” That’s straight out of the STASI and KGB handbooks.

However, we now see a bigger and more fundamental issue: the police are no longer just “law enforcement”, they are “profit centers”. Their job has expanded to include getting as much revenue as possible, and they have politicians and bureaucrats incentivizing them to bring home the bacon.

That’s our fault, at the local level, at least, because we keep electing people who don’t love freedom and they appoint others who hate it.

Policemen aren’t (usually) evil in and of themselves. Glenn is right about its being the policies they are required to follow that eventually make them that way. But imagine a world with no police.

Even granting your (unstated) premise, that the “simple website” was just a horrific mistake (which not all accept, btw), let’s not forget that the destruction of USmerica has been long in the planning. Neither O’bama nor Jimmy Carter, neither FDR nor Woodrow Wilson was first to want to “fundamentally transform” this once-great country.

It started in 1776 (or even earlier) and hasn’t relented. Satan has had his minions at work on this, has inspired them with hatred of freedom and a desire for dominance over their fellows.

God inspired the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. He, as B. Franklin reminded us, oversaw the establishment of the united States of America. Satan opposes anything and everything God wants. That he will lose in the end does not mean that he cannot create havoc, chaos, and misery along the way.

“Have an actual weapon to subdue the suspect …” In MARYLAND!?!?

C’mon, we all know that Marylanders have lost their rights (and most of them have lost their minds) when it comes to self defense.

Written yesterday for another forum, but appropriate here:

Some have objected that there were no Mouselemin Founders, no Islamic signatories on the Declaration of Independence as proof that Islam had no influence on the origins of USmerica. Their arguments are true, but their conclusion is wrong.

Mouselmens had a direct impact on this country’s early history, and that impact is one we feel yet today.

A few years back, O’bama went to Africa and looked out “the door of no return” where hundreds of thousands of Black slaves embarked on their trip to British America and later USmerica. That story is well known. What is far less known is that those who sold the slaves were Moselemins.

Slavery has been described as the worst part of USmerica’s past. (We should remember, though, that wise Blacks, like Walter E. Williams and Thomas Sowell, have given public thanks to the slavers who were responsible for their being born in this great land.) It is the cause, we are told, of the grave unrest in the inner city (it’s not, that cause is welfare), and for the riots in Fergussen and Detroit and New York and East L.A.

So, I’m perfectly willing to give Islam its due: it has caused more pain and suffering in this great country than any other source.
