Japanese Mayor Apologizes Somewhat for Comment on U.S. Troops and ‘Comfort Women’

Um, no offense to anyone in the military or the rest of America, but this has been a long-running issue with our guys in Okinowa and raping of the locals. The guy has a valid point about our boys getting their act together. The actions of these (surely only a few) are still a disgrace, and any and all Japanese certainly have a right to point it out and ask for it to stop, Weird what he said about the comfort women, though; it kind of undermines his true point–but I think he was trying to equivocate there–apparently feeling gun shy about criticizing America. These military bases of ours are a boon to whatever local economy they set up in; so I’m sure he wants to tread lightly and now he’s been told to apologize. I hope we can clean our own act up so this isn’t a problem anymore, though. That should be the real take away here.

All fun. Still doesn’t really help underscore that other problem we have, which is that Fox News is not a true conservative voice. They are often neocon shills at “best”–which is all pro RHINO and truly still a branch of progressivism (think Karl). They provide some voice for real conservatives (Hannity comes to mind), but still employ anchors who could fit right in on CNN or MSNBC (Shep comes to mind). Yes, the world is better for Fox News doing what little it does, but part of our battle is to communicate to people that Fox News is still actually on the left–that they’re still not getting the full story. Tell someone you know who isn’t a staunch conservative that O’Reilly is “not conservative enough,” and see what reaction you get. But if you are a true conservative, you know that ratings hack is a lightweight who triangulates and throws bones to both sides, but is no help in the fight against neocons, liberals, statists, Obama & Co., etc. So, it’s all fun to see these lefty jerks eating themselves, but we can’t let it stand what these people are still selling: that Fox News is the standard-bearer for actual conservatism.

I am a hardcore conservative and a believer in Christ. No Santa B.S. in my house ever. Santa, trees, lights, etc. as they are employed in the modern “holiday” traditions have nothing to do with the birth of Christ. Not that we can’t celebrate His birthday with lights, gifts, etc. (we do). But Santa takes the eye off the ball for young kids–is it about him and you getting stuff or this other thing altogether where God crawled inside a man called the Son of God to take your sins away? Plus, lying to your kids about something they can get so invested in is just unsmart. What else will they decide you were B.S.’ing them about? Including maybe that thing about God coming as a man? Or did you mention that this Christmas at all? Cuz I know Santa forgot to mention it or note it in any way while NORAD tracked him all the way to your neighborhood. Santa can be a fun thing, but he can’t be presented as real, nor does he enhance the actual point and theological meaning of Christ’s birth in any way. Maybe tangentially if you use the Orthodox Saint Nicholas (the actual saint) story in place of American Santa–but then, he wouldn’t be riding a sleigh through the air to your house ever, would he, then?

There are not enough posts like this one on here. Do people really think Breitbart was not whacked? Not saying he WAS, but I’m sure not thinking there’s not way her couldn’t have been. My first thought with these people running the country, killing American citizens with drones (not that I actually minded that one . . .), using the DOJ to investigate Sheriff Joe for nothing, running guns, etc., what would stop them from taking a half-a$$ed shot at anyone from the opposing candidate’s side? Remember that story about the guy who was whacked in the local DNC office after getting a wad of notarized signatures for Hillary . . . right before Hillary conceded to Barry in the last primary? No reason at this point to say the smoke on the plane WAS anything for sure, but how could people not think it might have been something other than an accident? At least you have to wonder if it couldn’t be a message, a shot across Romney’s bow (you know, “We’re not kidding around; this is for keeping control of the driver’s seat of the Free World . . .”). Where’s everyone’s critical thinking caps???

The only poll that counts is the one on election day. Remember when all of Hollywood couldn’t believe that The Passion of the Christ could draw any attention let alone rake in millions and millions right out of the gate? Every year, the left-wing award winner movies take in no real box office, but the family-friendly, patriotic movies kill. Hollywood and the leftists live in a dream world. Good people stand by every once in a while and an Obama slips in. Then they overplay their hand and regular Americans take notice and set things right. I think you are right, Batt, this will not be close. Last election, the single largest block of registered voters were those who chose not to vote for either candidate. By like 12 million (non)votes. If even part of them are stirred to action by $4 gas (but no drilling), more folks on food stamps than ever, billions in stimulus and bailouts but (real) unemployment at around 14% (we all have figured out the gov’s phony numbers game on that front by now, right?), cost of living going up but median household income down (and eclipsed by the Canadians’??!!), etc. etc.–well, if even a part of that voting block wakes up and takes notice, this will not even be a close election. What will be interesting will be how the media spins it, though. I wonder when the rest of these lefty talking heads will go the way of Dan Rather . . . ?

A bunch of you have posted that one should not believe Behe has written anything worthwhile with Darwin’s Black Box because some other guys somewhere said you shouldn’t think it is worthwhile. Referencing talkorigins is a nice cop out. Everyone who has an interest in origins has been to talkorigins, and we are all aware of their statements about creationism and evolution. How about using your own smarts to sort out the truth about the world around you? I know a lot of you think that if someone wrote it out in words or got their words published somewhere that those words must be worthwhile and carry weight. But use your brain. Darwin’s Black Box is fantastic and is only bolstered brilliantly by Behe’s next book, The Edge of Evolution: The Search for the Limits of Darwinism. Read The Blind Watchmaker (by Darwin’s Doberman, Richard Dawkins) and then read The Edge of Evolution. Use your own brain. Moderate intellect and basic logic will tell you which set of arguments is better. Evolution is a weak, unproven, and unprovable idea, in fact, it’s demonstrably false. How about you actually tell someone yourself why that statement is untrue instead of providing a link? You don’t even understand why you believe or don’t believe one side or the other–but you could. Just use your own brain, and stop trusting someone else to think it out for you. What if they’re wrong? They’re not smarter than you–but they are motivated . . . the question is: by what?

Is anyone else having a problem pulling this Mitt Romney episode up on ROKU? I can get everything to come up but today’s program. Is tech on this?? I waited all day to watch this one! I noticed that it is not a hot link like today’s other shows on the BlazeTV schedule webpage, either. What is up with this show??
