@fightercraig, That is correct, it began in 1985 under Reagan and was expanded to include wireless service in 2005 under Bush, so to blame only Obama for “Obama phones” is fallacy. However, Obama and the Dems are not very quick to point this out themselves…
The Dems are surely taking credit, and enjoying the praise of their electorate, for something that they had nothing to do with and, just the same, the ‘right’ happily uses it as ammo against Obama…
Amazing to think that the woman proclaiming her “Obama Phone”, in that amusing video from a few years ago, should actually be thanking “evil” and “careless” republicans like Reagan and Bush, not Obama……
and I thought the republicans never did anything to help the lower class…

yet another entitlement mentality that needs to open a book about free-market economy pay/skill standards and educate yourself on why the minimum wage is what it is and learn the difference between skilled and unskilled labor and why there is and must be pay disparity between the 2.
Pay is not based on the wealth of the corporation, but the skill level of the occupation. An occupation like fast food that does not even require a GED or High school diploma making more than many of the entry level skilled labor occupations is just laughable and will never happen.

Explain, what was the vet making up, what lie?

Also, maybe you should listen to that audio again. I can only hear one idiot acting nuts and it wasn’t the person on the other end of the line who barely even got a chance to speak.

Notice the way Ed avoids discussing the original point that Russell was making about the fact that only the Republicans have been proposing legislation to try and solve this situation. The only argument this braindead, mainstream beltway zombie can make is that the Republicans caused the shutdown by omitting the CR funding for Obamacare, as if there is nothing more to it….
Ed, like every other beltway liberal, lacks any ability at all to apply his own independent and critical thought to anything dealing with politics, he can only regurgitate a narrative passed down by his elite progressive overseers.

“Waits taking you and your foot soldiers, why haven’t you gone to “Egypt”, to protect your “Brothers and Sisters, you do believe in “Heaven”, Right? ;) (Hypocrite you are! ) ;)”

Dumbest response ever… what the hell are you even trying to say? That any religious man or women who is not in Egypt protecting their “Brothers and Sisters” are “Hypocrite”?

We can only cross our fingers and hope…

Nobody is claiming otherwise, of course it is “phony” as far true reality goes. It is just entertainment that many people find enjoyable. Although DD is scripted and the situations are staged I still believe it depicts who they are, more or less. DD is the only “reality” show I have ever been able to watch and actually enjoy.

And what I find disturbing is how so many people in these forums seem to be obsessed with what other people enjoy watching to the point that they get upset and start insulting each other for both liking and not liking DD. Who cares.. I am not talking about you SKUNKBEAR.

“I don’t know. I kind of don’t blame the hotel guy for mistaking him for a homeless man and showing him the door. Most of us manage to groom ourselves well. He doesn’t.”

Not everyone feels the need to follow the uniformed, societal image quo’s, believe it or not… Considering Jase does not look like the typical, financially stable New Yorker I don’t blame the man for mistaking Jase as a homeless man either. I think it is very comical and Jase apparently does as well. No harm done.

“UM…MSNBC now calling Boston jihadi bombers ‘far right-wingers’”

LOL, well of course. Just like conservatism bankrupted Detroit. Just like The Muslim Brotherhood taking power in Egypt is a “democratic revolution” and The Muslim Brotherhood being pushed out of power in Egypt is somehow a “democratic failure”. We are living in the bizarre’o world you see, everything is backwards.

So, the GOP is just now figuring out what we have all known since 09…wow, bravo.

“I have been posting against the progs for years and years. Long before you showed up. ”

Why are you acting like a liberal, commie prog then? This is exactly what they do, insult people who don’t think like they do and slander anything that they can’t find interest in.

“That’s right, if you like the show then watch it. But don’t call people names that don’t watch the show and have better things to do.”

This is a response from you in another lead, are you kidding me… how are you able to fit your own foot in your mouth like that?

I am not a fan of reality TV whatsoever. I had heard a lot about DD but never bothered checking it out until I heard the story about one of the DD Hollywood lib producers telling Willie and the rest of the clan that they could no longer have guns on camera, I think there was a issue with the praying at the end of each episode as well, or else the contract would have to be ended. Well, according to the story I had read, Willie and Phil told them to go ahead and get lost then because god and guns are their life and DD is suppose to be about the life of the Robertson’s.
I don’t know if that story is true but it led to me checking it out one night and I instantly fell in love. DD is the first reality TV show that I have ever been able to get into.

“@LLENRAD..Well the nature of that truth is what they have been doing to the American people and the hands that they didn’t want it falling into was the hands of the American people..You have to remember..repeat after me now..
The government is not my friend..”

I don’t need to be educated on what the government is, smart @$$, I was making a general comment on what Soy said.
I have mixed views on Manning and what he leaked, I don’t have a problem with truth being revealed and corruption being exposed. But, I also know that there was a level of security risk for our military men and women overseas in what he exposed as well, that I do have a problem with, which is why I have mixed feelings on the matter. Maybe that part was all ********, who knows, just pointing out why so many people hate Manning.
I am the last person you need to teach about not trusting government.

What about responding to an attack on US soil if that response must be overseas or against US interest overseas, Skunkbear? Do we just sit back and watch, is fighting back to aggressive?
What about defending our allies, is that ok or do we just wave and tell them good luck? I am really just curious.

“I seek to avoid war, especially wars we should not win.”
    What wars should we lose?

“They love zimmerman because he stood against the liberals. They hate manning because he stands against the establishment”

LOL, nobody loves Zimmerman and Zimmerman did not stand against liberals. Liberals stood against Zimmerman and every American’s right to self-defense . We do respect the outcome of the trial because, as far as the evidence can tell, it was justified and there is some measure of satisfaction to see the left not get what it wants, yes. Especially when it comes to my right to defend myself against a person of any race or creed.

  • August 4, 2013 at 7:25pm

It is the nature of that truth and the hands in which that truth can fall into that is the problem here I think.

“Writing Saturday on the progressive news site AlterNet, Hartmann said Virginia’s suicide rate is at a 13-year high, and that the nation’s suicide rate as a whole has risen 23 percent over the last decade.”
“The fact is, America’s suicide rate is on the rise, and conservative economic policies are to blame,” Hartmann wrote.

Hey Thom, guess what has been in decline over the past decade, conservative economic policies. Guess what has been on the rise besides the suicide rate, liberal economic policies…
Try utilizing that very small common sense portion of your brain, Thom, even though I doubt it is still absorbing oxygen. Probably just dead tissue by now.

“Obama is so ineffectual that under his leadership we have: passed the Affordable Care Act, ended Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, did away with DOMA and Prop 8, struck down many draconian anti-immigration laws, more states have legalized gay marriage, and the stock market is at an all-time high. (I realize that Obama did not have a direct hand in all of those things, but he was on the right [aka "winning"] side of all of those issues.) LOL. Have fun losing in 2016. Look at the bright side–you’ll get another four years of claiming that the election was stolen.”

Exactly in what world are you living? Not one of your claims about Obama’s apparent triumph’s is even remotely a good thing, FOR ANYONE. The apparent beneficiaries of these great achievements will be ones devastated most of all. Except for maybe the gay community when it comes to DOMA and prop 8 of course but wow…. that is a whole other discussion.

“Both Bush’s went to an IVY league school, Clinton went to Georgetown and was a Rhodes scholar, Obama went to Columbia and Harvard, and the last President that turned this country around and the country loved went to……Eureka College, Ronald Reagan went to Eureka College.

Think about that one America, we elect these Ivy league bunglers, and we get the same results and policies, it doesn’t matter what party they are in, the same thing.”

This is very true but it is not all individual students that are the problem, it is the progressive liberal administrators and faculties that make policy in these Ivy League schools that are the problem.
