    You said:
“…that President Bush hopped down to GITMO in Air Force 1 and put his finger prints all over the paperwork?”
True, he didn’t. But then again, Obama didn’t fly to Libya and unlock the consulate doors, but many are acting like it.
My point is that people are so quick to blame the other “side”, while they dismiss any wrong doing of their “side”.
Oh, and Fast and Furious, a complete and utter f—up. No doubts about that. 100% agree.
    Peace out…

We have a SOFA with Libya?
And when did we start talking about Germany or Japan? I was talking about reactions of people in the Middle East to armed U.S. soldiers, and how it might alter their attitudes. Most Americans are good people, but I can tell you if I had armed foreign soldiers in my town, they wouldn’t see my best side.

My base assumption was that Bush signed off on the release. That is a demonstrably true base assumption. You could add to that base assumption, and say he caved to pressured and went against his morals, but that wouldn’t be the BASE assumption.

And why won’t you always have to bend a little? Are you taking over the country and implementing a dictatorship?

Were you in a uniform and carrying a weapon? If so, that could possibly change people’s attitudes towards you. Similar to how you would feel if you passed a Chinese or Russian soldier patrolling your neighborhood.

f I get arrested for something, I’ll just tell the judge that some other guy talked me into it, and the judge can’t deny it, and then he’ll say, “Yeah, you’re right, that makes total sense. It isn’t your fault. You were pressured into it. You are released. Have a good day, citizen.”.
Or does that only work for Presidents?

Or, maybe you’re right, and Bush was just a spineless wuss pushed around by the big, scary liberals. Some cowboy.

Either way, it doesn’t make him look too good.

Oh, I forgot, anything bad a conservative does is because they were talked into it by the left. Makes perfect sense.

Actually, the generally accepted political spectrum is a 4 square grid, not a line, with fascism being the Authoritarian Right, and Communism is seen as the Authoritarian Left. Libertarianism being split between right and left based on the degree of social and economic freedoms one believes in.

He was released in 2007 from Guantanamo Bay by G.W. Bush.

Rock on, man! I’d have been very tempted to shoot, but your restraint is admirable.

Actually, I registered yesterday, so by your definition, I’m not a troll.
I guess you somehow magically showed up after your first day here.

Paranoid much? Everyone who has an opinion different than yours must be part of the vast conspiracy out to get you!
I’ve been to Chicago before, does that count? I had to look up who messina is. His office must be in a different wing than mine…

YouTube isn’t live, so god must have meant TV.
The first communications satellite broadcast was in 1960, so I guess the world will end sometime between 52 years ago, and when our sun dies out.

I spent 19 years in a fundamentalist church. I’ve read the bible cover to cover, and some Nostradomus.
Revelations is certainly similar enough to his writing to be mistaken for it, as well as some of the other prophetic passages.
A man who takes a thousands of years old vague prophesy and declares he has the one interpretation is either self deluding, or trying to convince others to follow him.
If humans are still around in 10,000 years, there will still be people declaring end-of-days just like they have been for 10s of thousands of years already.

And when there is a fifth ruler, will you find one not to count, making the new one the fourth, or will you admit that biblical prophesy is like Nostradamus? Vague and open to interpretation.

    Free speech can be hypocritical.
Plain and simple, to say denouncing the “film” is analogous to apologizing for free speech, then saying he should denounce this stupid photograph, is equally hypocritical to what they are accusing the President of doing.
That is their right to say, just as it is my right to point out the hypocrisy in it.
And the President did say no one should denigrate anyone’s religion, therefore, he has denounced this photo.

Jesus wasn’t white. And he loved everyone.

  • September 22, 2012 at 7:47am

“… shut your foul, disresprespectful mouths. And, for God sakes don’t vote.”
But aren’t those the very freedoms you were fighting for?

  • September 22, 2012 at 7:34am

Woodyee, how is my post hypocritical?

  • September 22, 2012 at 7:30am

I was exactly addressing the article. It is calling on the President to denounce the photograph, and calls it hypocritical not to do so. Exactly what my post was about. I repeated myself because I was responding to similar statements.
