The use of lethal force in self-defense requires that the person NOT be the initial aggressor; that the attacker have the ability and opportunity to cause death or great bodily harm to the defender; and that the jeopardy actually exist. Initial aggressor: Bikers threaten driver; tries to stop his vehicle. Check. Ability: Disparity of force is obvious by the number of bikers (“the mob”) which have stopped, so ability exists. Check. Opportunity: Driver has stopped. Check. Jeopardy: The mob closes in. Check.

Self-defense use of lethal force seems obvious to me. All the rest of this talk about what happened before the video began means nothing. Even if a member of that mob did NOT confront the driver, the Warren Doctrine says that as an intentional member of the mob, he was one of the things that caused the fear and caused the reasonable response, and for causing that reasonable fear, now shares the general jeopardy that accrues to the criminal of their unlawful assault that triggered the lawful defense.

He should therefore go from his hospital bed to the cage for his crime.

When asked SEVERAL times why anyone should own an AR-15, the proper response is, “they shouldn’t. They should have select-fire M-4′s and M-16′s, or whatever weapons the military and law enforcement get.” When the 2nd amendment was written, it was meant to give the people fire SUPERIORITY over the government so that the government would fear the people – not the people in fear of the government. One thing I definitely took away from this dialogue, though: Piers said he’s okay with people having pistols for both home defense and personal defense. I find that ironic, since in 2011, FBI’s UCR states 323 out of 12,664 murders in the US were by “rifle” (2.6%). 6,220 were by PISTOL (49.1%). In other words, for every assault rifle killing, there’s *19* pistol killings!

I’m proud of him for essentially walking away from a career in acting for the sake of the truth. He’s got about as much of a chance of getting a role in Hollywood as Glenn Beck joining Michael Savage for a prime time bit on MSNBS. When does it profit a man….
