After reading this article, all I can say is that Heaven will be such a welcome relief from all this.

Rosech…. I, too, hate any kind of vulgar speech. This is one time that I completely understand what he was going through and thought he seemed extremely in control. A couple of years ago, I had a tiny spider crawl into my ear. It was there for three days (thinking it would crawl back out on its own PLUS I didn’t know it was a spider!) Then, I tried the oil and it worked. Point is…. it was the tiniest spider, only as big as the head of a pin, and crawling on my eardrum, it sounded like an elephant stomping around. As sensitive as an eardrum is, this large moth must have been so horrible, I cannot even imagine what he was experiencing. Even with all the bad language, he was so in control of his hysteria. I can extend grace to this guy – easily.

Some bugs and spiders can swim in water. Oil will drown them every time because it is so hard to navigate, cannot be swallowed and saturates their wings. Sorry about your grandfather’s experience!

Well, the good news – other than the fact that he got it out – is that he has a lot of good friends. If you ever have anything fly into your ear, turn your head to the side and fill the ear canal with olive oil. Keep it there for 3 to 5 minutes, allowing for the insect/spider/whatever to drown. Then, place a towel on the ear and turn your head so that the oil will drain out. The critter will come out with the oil. If you go after it with tweezers, it will only back farther into the ear canal – which is what happened to this poor guy. That’s my two cents worth for the day!

Is this a bad time to fly to India? Actually…. Trip is 10 days from now.

Rapture… It’s that next verse….. Matt.24:9…… That one trips me up. What did Jesus mean by that one?

Yes…. But, if we just die in our car, there will be no animals or birds that will be in contact with us. Such an awful and morbid thought. It is hard for me to think of these things. I can say this…. I don’t want to cause anyone or anything harm.

It seems to me that the most considerate and loving thing to do if we find ourselves with Ebola is to drive our car out to a deserted field, put a sign up and say, “Died of Ebola – Stay Back” and suffer in silence till we are gone. Since there is no cure, why expose everyone around us by going to a hospital or calling an ambulance? Just go and die alone in the woods away from everyone else. Just my humble opinion…..

Smokey…. That old saying is so true, “Happy Wife – Happy Life!” I am glad you and your dear wife are still in love, happy, and making it work. It sounds to me that you have found the real key to happiness!

Yes, Nab…. Sociopaths (psychopaths) do exist. I have known two in my lifetime. They are not always in prisons, not always criminals, but ALWAYS very dangerous. They have to memorize different emotions (sadness, empathy, etc….) as they cannot (100% CANNOT) feel it for anyone other than themselves. For example, if a psychopath is sent to prison for a crime, he will only feel sorry for himself – not his victim. A great book to read if you are interested:
“Without Conscience – The Disturbing World of the Psychopaths Among Us” by Robert D. Hare, PhD. Oh yes…. and, a favorite movie of mine – it’s an old one called, “The Bad Seed.” It is a thriller! Psychopaths DO exist.

Gonzo…. But that was after he destroyed our healthcare system and installed death panels. His plan has been deliberate, diabolical and evil. The good news is: God is bigger than all this!

EyeDontCare….. Jesus had no patience with evil. He vehemently cast it out. “Get thee behind me, Satan!” Having said that, at the end and on the cross, He prayed to God to “forgive them for they know not what they do.” As He is and was our perfect Master, teaching and leading us through this life, I believe we are to follow His example. Have no patience with evil, cast it out, destroy it, and pray for those who are walking in darkness. Hatred is a strong emotion and harms us every time we indulge in it. We must rise above, be the embodiment of love, but as Jesus said, “Be harmless as doves but wise as a serpent.”

I did this many years ago when my son skipped a class in high school. I told him if he ever skipped a class, I’d sit through it with him the next day. I let the teacher know ahead of time that I would be sitting with him that day and did sit beside him all through his class. I was so proud of myself – carrying through with my threat. Surely, THIS would mortify him to such an extent that he would never, ever do it again! That evening, he laughed and told me that nobody knew I was his mother! They thought I was a class monitor checking out the teacher, etc…. I was so bummed out and told him that next time I would be sure to introduce myself to one and all. He never did skip another class, though!

runwithscissors…. I have been happily married for 43 years now, have been reading through all the responses here and I have to tell you that yours is the BEST advice I have read so far. You nailed it.

Foobared….. 46,000,000 on food stamps is all he has been able to accomplish to this point. He has done an excellent job in meeting his goals. To him, these numbers are too low. When a financially, morally destitute and destroyed country is his objective, and looking at it from this point of view, his abilities are excellent.

@TheRaptureComes…. I am wondering, how does the 91st Psalm apply to all this destruction? Do you believe we will be here when these scriptures are fulfilled (protected by God) or will the rapture occur first?

  • [1] September 13, 2014 at 9:25am

Amen to that maggie2012. I ran into a funny quote last night. It goes:

“You call them swear words. I call them sentence enhancers.”

    Another one:

“Some days the supply of available curse words is insufficient to meet my demands.”

Wish I could rescue her little boy.

@deepforest….. Do not accuse me of being “dirty minded” for my opinion that his dance was inappropriate for children. The guy was thrusting and grabbing his crotch. The people in the audience were shielding their children’s eyes and trying to protect their innocence. Do not tell me to lighten up and relax a little when I am under attack for seeing this as inappropriate. He was fired for good reason.
