  Methinks you have never thought about a war band of cannibalistic Ottawa warriors ripping the shakes off your cabin to get at you and your family. Or thought of finding the slaughtered and mutilated corpses of your women and friends left by drunken militia like the Mingo Chief Logan.

  Good and bad in every age. It has ever been the duty of the righteous strong to defend the weak or disadvantaged from the predators among us.

  The movie “No Country for Old Men” makes the point quite well. Younger old Sheriff (Tommy Lees Jones) feeling over matched by he evil he faces in the modern world….hears about how he doesn’t have problems from a real old timer. Good stuff starts about 3:20 into it.

  McCain and Lindsey are EXTREMELY threatened by Paul and Cruz.

  McCain the grumpus and little sister Lindsey are among the few GOP Senators that the non-political American know anything about. How about those two losers are a brand identity? They constantly appear on TV and cable news and opinion shows as “the opposition” and curry favor with the socialist tool inner circles in DC. They revel in the “rock star/important person/senior statesmen” aura it allows them to posture.

  Both are paper tigers, “legends in their own minds and on MSNBC” and do not speak for the rank and file GOP.

  The infantile tantrums McCain and Lindsey acted out in blubbering and whining and mocking Paul is the only embarrassment I see in the whole affair. Is this the best their states can offer as senators?

  I damn well expect Obama and Holder to state unequivocally that they have NO authority to kill any American citizen anywhere not a part of a widespread and organized rebellion or attacks on the US (ie 1861 or twin towers style) without due process.

  Cruz and now Rand are breaking the good old boy hold. MORE POWER TO THEM.

  I have been to CPAC 4 times off and on as both exhibitor for my company and as attendee. 2006 was the famous “parade of candidates” lining up for 2008 that included Huckabee, Dornan, Mitt, etc and a surprise raid by Giuliani to see if he could get out alive. It served/serves many purposes. Pep rally and Disneyland for conservatives/libertarians. A beauty pageant tryout for up and comers/wannabes in media and politics. Informational seminars and panels where you could see up close the Imperial City insiders.
  It became a war zone between the Rockefeller heirs vs the Goldwater heirs. The Rockies have become so liberal as to no longer be Republican (RINO), let along conservative. The Goldies have lacked a real standard bearer with legs since Reagen. This is more the naval gazing fault of the media…both lame-stream and guys like you…than the caliber of candidates.

  The GOP is splitting between the SOCCONS and the FISCONS..between rich urban and middle class suburban/rural. I see in my state party in Ohio….Tea Partiers have more in common with Democrat neighbors than either do with our party leadership.

  My family is from WV and have been GOP since Fremont in “56″…1856. The party left us…freedom, small businessman/farmers and virtue for the glitzy lure of power, big biz and vice. So now I am fringe? BS!

  CPAC is NOT the grassroots of the GOP…too many Imperial City insiders….but it is where a few of us rural Jethros, still loyal to the real Party go to

Our Mexicans (who are 2x more violent than white Jethro’s like me) have a lower criminal use of guns rate than their still dry backed southern cousins!   I have shared several foxholes with Baker in the “gunwars” over the last 30 years..
