    @MODERATION
    This person asked, “Who cares?” The question showed an utter lack of concern for an athlete who has had less than good treatment. As you might notice, I wasn’t trying to discuss his “marketable talents” as a quarterback. As a person, he has been treated in a way that would make most of the posters on The Blaze cry, “Foul!” So, my response was directed at the snarky comment. If he didn’t take one more snap in professional football, he can still date my daughter. And, as an old Soldier, that’s saying a lot about a 20-something young man.

    Yeah, who cares? He’s just a young man who has lived a clean life and attempted to emulate his Lord and Savior, Christ. He’s been criticized, cajoled, and lampooned for his faith and yet, has never said a bad word about anyone publicly. He became a hero in Denver even though had an apparent lack of NFL-level quarterback skills. He has been treated with a total lack of respect in New York, working with another quarterback and coach who felt threatened by his presence. His behavior and character have inspired countless young athletes around the country to act more like him. He’s a bit of class in a nearly classless sport, an unwavering Christian in a world hostile to Christ-followers, and an all-around nice guy.
    But, yeah…..who cares?

  • While it is encouraging to hear everyone’s patriotic fervor on this issue, there are a lot of comments being made out of a lack of knowledge (ignorance, in the nicer sense).
    First, the school’s policy said that shirts worn on Dress Down Day were required to have a collar. Like it or not, the girl violated that policy. Yes, the teacher handled it like a moron, but that doesn’t lessen the girl’s incorrect dress. Somehow, we who are conservative and very patriotic, seem to believe that as long as we are doing something ‘patriotic’ that rules are meant to be winked at. The message to the girl should have been, “We like the message of your shirt, but it is important that we follow the rules.”
    Also, many people here seem to believe that the school is conservative because it’s on an Army post. Time to burst a few bubbles….
    Here, at Fort Leavenworth, one cannot go for very long without seeing an Obama bumper sticker. Numerous military and DoD civilians are liberal (hate to say it, but it’s true). The schools here on post are actually run by the Leavenworth City Schools, not DoD. My guess is that you will find many others on Army posts do the same. They don’t vet their teachers according to their patriotism and conservative values.
    I know this post wont’ please many. I’m a Soldier and an ultra-conservative Christian, but I have to follow rules regarding what I wear to work….and so should this young lady.

  • Most schools have banned dodge ball as they continue to implement the wussification of America. But I agree with these moms- we’ve got to stop all these children from bringing their assault rifles to show & tell (unless they’ve banned show & tell….).

  • I love it when people air their ignorance about homeschooling (see previous comments). Yeah, I’ll spend an hour or two a day “instilling” Christian values in my kids so that the Public School can have them 6+ hours a day and instill their values. Hmmmm.
    Whether you agree with the homeschool method or not is irrelevant. Parents should have the right to see that their children are educated in the format and location of their choice. Geez, some of you here are sounding like Melissa Harris-Perry (or is it Perry-Harris? Can’t keep the hyphens straight).

  • Ahh, Antioch College. I was in Dayton, OH for three years and during that time, Antioch was trying to resurrect a college that had essentially gone bankrupt. Yellow Springs, OH is like a mecca for aging hippies. This college is another petri dish for radical leftist thought. Even worse, this type of Diversity and Multiculturalism, evidenced at Bowdoin, is at nearly every public university in America- just at varying levels of implementation. This report could be applied to hundreds of colleges/universities right now.

  • Why don’t you research it before making a foolish statement?

  • Sokath, his eyes uncovered!

  • Rob Bell has written some books that have gained a great amount of acceptance within many evangelical churches, especially Youth ministries. He is part of what is known as the Emergent Church Movement. Bad juju.
    Many conservative, bible-believing Christians have been warning of Rob Bell’s un-biblical and heretical teachings. He and the other leaders in his movement need to be renounced loudly. Run in the opposite direction…
