    Really, Dick? Really? Have you ever tried coding a website for keeping track of multiple variables in adding taxes for purchases? Have you ever had to keep track of the changing laws of 50 different states, plus municipalities and had to submit a check to each of those and file forms with each as well? Didn’t think so.

  • CORYF076, I don’t think it’s really anyone’s business what’s in his backpack. Lots of people carry backpacks with assorted things in them. That in and of itself is not suspicious in any way.

    Well there’s your problem, Senator. You’ve been in Senate for 30 years and still haven’t figured out what the purpose of the Senate is. The purpose of the Senate is to represent the states’ interests and to take constitutionally-allowable legislative actions as necessary in order to ensure states’ rights are protected. They also have the power to ratify treaties by 2/3 consent and to try impeachments. That’s it!

    Obviously John McCain has failed once again to read the Constitution, to the point where he seems to think that the Senate is a social club where he and his liberal buddies get together, talk about things and then hold polls of all the bros at the social club to show people they’re doing stuff.

  • Don’t be ridiculous, fatmanchew. Community college is a waste of money and time.

    Community college is a great idea in theory. The problem is that the vast majority of community colleges are glorified public high schools. Their academic standards are nonexistent and their teachers are liberal hacks who can’t get a job in the private market and aren’t good enough at what they do to get a job at a real university. I don’t deal in absolutes, but in general that is the case.

    Most universities are leery about accepting credits from community colleges, and will often only give 1/2 or 1/4 credit for community college classes if they give any credit at all. (Community colleges lie about this fact all the time, claiming their credits will transfer to real schools.) It is also a sign that the individual with community college on his or her record is possibly a deadbeat who will never graduate, especially if that person has spent two or more years in community college without earning an associates. Many, if not most students who start at a community college and then move on to a real university end up taking a minimum of 5-6 years to complete their bachelors degree, if they ever complete it at all.

  • It’s amazing how quickly people regulate products other people enjoy because they don’t like it or find it offensive: be it cigarettes, alcohol, sugar, fat, or SUVs. Those who truly stand for freedom will stand for *everyone’s* freedom, not just their own. Even if other people’s freedom is a little offensive.

  • Immigration reform does need to happen, and it needs to happen immediately, damn any “repercussions” for people who have been here ILLEGALLY, whether for a few days or a few decades. These progressive amnesty programs need to stop, and we need to return to the immigration laws we had prior to 1965. We also need to revise the first sentence of USC Amendment 14, Section 1. It was short-sighted wording that has been abused by the courts, and should instead state something along the lines of, “All persons born of two United States citizens or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

  • Sometimes Ann has good days (like CPAC), sometimes she has bad days (like Fox Business Network’s “Stossel”).

  • What does atheism have to do with it, ISLANDATHEIST? Plenty of Christians have studied the Bible enough to understand that God exists and that there is nothing wrong or sinful about homosexuality. A vocal series of individuals who call themselves Christians and who have neglected biblical study hate gay people and everything to do with gay people. These are the same types who tend to be discovered hiring beautiful, young people of the same gender to go on vacation with them…. But I think the vast majority of Christians who put reasonable thought and study into Christianity and the Bible realize there’s no problem whatsoever with homosexuality in terms of CHristianity.

  • I’m actually starting to like S.E. Cupp more and more. She may be an atheist, but despite that she has a pretty darn good track record for being intellectually honest in pursuing freedom and prosperity.

  • The answer to this and so many other problems in the United States today is deregulation. The government has no place in marriage. It is between individuals and God. Restore freedom by getting the state out of the business of sanctioning marriages. Restore freedom by getting the state out of hiring and firing decisions. Restore freedom by getting the state out of medical care. Restore freedom by getting the state out of environmental concerns. Unfortunately, modern “conservatives” aren’t interested in freedom, they’re interested in imposing their own views upon others, just the same as liberals. It is utterly ridiculous.
