Dear Fellow Atheists: Stop Being Jerks
April 10, 2013 at 5:00pm
Excellently written. As a Christian and strong believer in my faith, I hold no bigotry toward those who do not believe as I do, or who believe in no religious faith whatsoever. I believe that God gives each of us the freedom to believe what we will, and I judge no one but myself in life. Perhaps that politician did not hire you because he wasn’t strong in his own faith; people who aren’t strong in their own belief systems or self-confidence are often uncomfortable around anyone or anything which challenges them in any way. As some observe, men who are secure in their manhood can wear a hot pink shirt, while those who are not secure will avoid it so that they will not be thought of as less than manly.
Having taught at a private religious school, I have had students of various faiths and some with no religion, and it has never bothered me, nor were they ostracized in any way. We’re all in different places in life, with different backgrounds and ideas. It seems to me, after years of study and observation inside and outside of the church, that those who are more religious than faith-centered are the more secure of believers, while those who are more into their actual faith than the religious trappings seem to be much more accepting of others who do not shaire their particular belief system. Look at St. Paul – he basically put Christ into the Greek pantheon in Athens in how he intro’d Christ to the people there. ‘Religious’ people today would balk at such a thing as blas
MSNBC Host Responds to Criticism of ‘Kids Belong to Whole Communities’ Promo With This Bible Verse
April 9, 2013 at 5:06pm
And notice that it wasn’t a verse supporting her statement or position. Maybe she just looked up verses online real quick and found one she liked and posted it, hoping that it might be interpreted as having something to do with her situation.
MSNBC Host Responds to Criticism of ‘Kids Belong to Whole Communities’ Promo With This Bible Verse
April 9, 2013 at 5:00pm
Notice how she totally changes what she originally said into something else completely. “All I was saying was that we should all love the children and help them in any way we can through the community, blah blah blah….” That is NOT what she said in the promo. What would you expect from someone on PMSNBC though?
Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher Dies at 87
April 8, 2013 at 9:51am
Amen. She was so great. I was fortunate to be a teenager during the ’80s, watching Reagan, Thatcher, and John Paul II do their great works. The Lady’s passing is a very sad moment for the world.
Angry Woman Stomping on Pro-Life Signs Asks: ‘You Want to Keep Paying Taxes for Babies [Born] to Crackheads?’
April 7, 2013 at 9:42am
Notice that these over-population worriers never put a gun to their own heads to start the depopulation with themselves. If they were so damned concerned….
Anyway, the crack-head babies comment gives her away, obvious racist, right? That’s what they’d say about a conservative using that example. I saw we start using it back. Besides, it’s probably true, just look at the history of eugenics and forced abortions and sterilization. Those are progressive ideas.
Lego to Pull ‘Anti-Islamic’ Star Wars Toy Set Following Muslim Furor?
April 1, 2013 at 9:58am
Idiocy like this from Muslims is just as bad, if not worse, than other forms of terrorism. This is trying to control people’s minds, saying, “you can’t think this or that or have this or that thing because we say it offends us!” It doesn’t offend them, they just see another opportunity to get their voice heard and their will obeyed and are training American and western corporations to do their bidding in preparation for the coming Western Caliphate.
Shame on Lego for submitting to this insanity. It looks like the movie set, period, end of story. They don’t like it, they don’t have to buy it.
NO small child in Des Moines or Provo would be playing with this in their bedroom thinking, “wow, this looks like a mosque I’ve never heard of in a place I’ve never been and these people that look just like the characters in the movie are actually representing Muslims as shown in a bad light or stereotype.” But that’s what the Muslims say the little kiddies would be indoctrinated to think, so Lego can’t make this harmless toy. I am disgusted with Lego and will not buy their toys for my nephews anymore.
Rush Limbaugh Vs. Bill O’Reilly? Find Out Why Limbaugh Says the Fox Host ‘Marginalized’ His Audience
March 28, 2013 at 3:27pm
Squid-
You are so right. How many people like O’Reilly see the OT stories as just allegory, when Jesus referred to Adam, Noah, Moses, Abraham, Jonah, etc.? Somehow O’Reilly doesn’t see the illogic in believing Jesus was the Son of God and Truth Incarnate and that he referenced these OT men and their stories. He’s a typical Roman Catholic who listened to dogma from others rather than actually read The Word for himself apparently, or doesn’t believe most of what he read. Not to say that all Catholics are this way, but so many that I have met know very little about what the Bible they claim to believe in actually says.
I hate it when O’Reilly starts blabbing about religion or economics and shows his incredible ignorance. I bet he wants those “Bible Thumpers” to buy his next book, Killing Jesus. Maybe they’ll take a pass on it and just read the Gospels for themselves. Priesthood of the believer, baby, it’s a great thing!
‘If Only There Had Been a Good Guy With a Gun’: Paper Defends Publishing Cartoon About Chris Kyle’s Death
February 14, 2013 at 3:57pm
Are you stupid or just trying to be obnoxious? Obviously there’s a huge difference between being shot while unaware and having a gun to shoot back at a murderer on an elementary school campus when you see the shooter coming and/or hear him shooting. Being shot in the back in a traitorious fashion is a different thing, and no doubt one that libs like you enjoy hearing about, especially when it takes down a hero. To compare the two while making a mockery of this man’s death is typical of the immoral left, who have no boundaries of decency because they have no God.
Can You Spot What’s Wrong With This White House Statement on the Passing of Gen. Schwarzkopf?
December 29, 2012 at 11:33am
Their own comment is idiotic: “The issuance of statements out of the White House is normally done carefully but is not rocket science…” IF it’s not rocket science, why can’t they get it right? They’re saying it’s not difficult by saying it’s not rocket science; that indicts them! Utter moronic buffoons in the White House.
My sympathy to the general’s family on his passing; he truly was a great American.
Bad Sportsmanship? Indiana Girls Basketball Team Blows Out Opponent 107-2
December 13, 2012 at 10:11am
So why the heck didn’t the other team score more than 2 points? What is wrong with them? To me, that’s the question, not whether or not the other team should have kept playing. Of COURSE they should have kept playing, there is a shot clock!
Now, one thing that might be considered is something that a few other sports have, which is a rule that if one team is ahead by a certain amount at a certain point, the game is called, though this is usually for intramural and off-league games. If my softball team was up 7-0 by the third inning, the game was called. Maybe if a basketball team is up by over 50 points at any point in a game’s third or fourth quarter, it could be called. Not a perfect solution by any stretch, but hey, the kids get to go home early and finish their homework, and we dont’ have any more stories like this to pass around on the ‘net. But seriousl, where the heck was the other team?!? 107-2?!?!?
