It is worse than that, this is poor fiscal policy designed to avoid economic corrections that have created such a debt load that there will be a generational impact. It Japan it has been going on for 25 years. Europe, driven primarily by social spending and excessive taxation, has had tepid growth in most of the nations for 40+ years.
Our future is on a similar path. Saving for your children's college is not only critical, but saving for them to purchase a home as well. It is an almost forgone conclusion that we will have a correction in the next 2-3 years. Get ready because it will be laid at the feet of the GOP.
This election should have been an easy Republican victory and the Trump supporters are squandering that opportunity because they have an irrational infatuation with a Liberal Democrat. Hillary will be the president and Trump supporters (with the help of Fox News, Rush, Hannity, Ingraham, Drudge, Savage, Coulter, Palin, etc) are to blame. We should never forget that.
Progressives and Democrats built this.
Oh ok, let's not even consider that this PRESIDENT was handed the worst economy since the great depression and an annual deficit run rate of $1.2 billion (FY 2009). Now beyond kate being way out of her league writing about this issue, this "economist" is a hack. Because the statement “Without fast rising productivity growth, you aren’t going to get fast rising living standards.” is fundamentally idiotic for two key reasons. First, the living standard has not rising in the past 20+ years despite unprecedented rise in productivity. So perhaps wages and the related standard of living should be caught up first. And second, the measurement of productivity in an economy that is increasingly becoming a service economy is sketchy at best. And of course let's not forget that investments in productivity gains during a period relatively high unemployment are not warranted or necessary. And lastly productivity gains that result in increasingly less jobs to provide the same outputs will not improve an amorphous macro indicator like "standard of living".
"Progressives and Democrats built this." Actually by any of this misused measures bill clinton built the strongest economy we had since WWII.... and then bush a conservative republican drove it off a cliff. But you go ahead and keep making up stuff to make yourself feel better.
Hillary wants to make the graphics better by upping the minimum wage to o $15 per hour,. When the effects do not appear to be enough, the minimum wage will get pushed up another five dollars per hour the next year. Expect another tea party type house election sweep to stop her the third year.

If only he would have made that statement in Spanish. Then I might not think he’s as big an idiot as I first thought.

Instead of all of those names, can I just call you El Guapo? And who were these Conservatives that called for armed revolution if Obama were elected?
The desired effect is to prevent a Liberal named Trump from getting the Republican nomination and losing badly to Hillary.
Thant's what I've been seeing M13 and this poll re-enforces that.
We'll find out more when the vote tallies are taken today.
And the people again cried out to God to give them a King,
and he gave them one....
Likely because 50% of republicans don't actually believe in the constitution or individual rights.
Trump out maneuvered the Establishment.. It was bound to backfire-- Cruz-to-Lose and Kay-SICK conducted themselves as Establishment operatives. Americans are tired of the manipulation and backroom deals.
I can't wait for Cruz and Kasich to bow out with egg on their faces!
