I think of my sons safely ensconced in their own classrooms, while on the other side of the country an entire community is fractured by the act of an evil individual. Our hearts are broken, we mourn for the loss of these beautiful children. We are so so sorry!
Yes…from my childhood I recall Sunday School songs, that only a FOOL would build his home on the sand. (It shifts, is unsteady – not ideal place to build foundation in Christ.) From someone such as I with little engineering experience, It boggles my mind to know these people will continue to build their homes on this spit of land, only to have it flattened down by mother nature time and again. FOOLS indeed.

Batteries (Power outage)
Water (utilities cut)
Simple, ready made foods
First aid kit
A change of clothes
Weapons & Ammo
In a sense…everything our men & women in the front line equip themselves on a regular basis. Makes you think twice about the luxuries we are spoiled with, thanks to their sacrifice. Stay safe out there.
sanitize (bleach) and fill bathtub with water to use for general use-cooking, flushing. Fill lined garbage cans or lined box containers with water.
Freeze large blocks of ice using lasagna trays and/or cake to line fridge or ice chests with the ice blocks.
Freeze gallon jugs and 2liter bottles filled with water (leave room for expansion) to help keep freezer cold in case of power outage. Should last up to 3 days.
Hunker down with a trusted group of folks to pool resources and brain power (God forbid) if needed.
Prayers to those of you in the path of the storm.
My neighbor would say you forgot beer.
Dont forget the toilet paper
On the other hand if one doesn't actually have anything to steal then one might not need ammunition. At the bare minimum someone should have a survival manual, and a little basic know how. for instance a sleeping bag can be made out of trash bags by combining two and stuffing it with leaves. Or to start a fire the best way is with two different types of wood, or have a magnesium block. Eat pine nuts, inner pine bark yields vitamin C, and other nutrients, water from vines. That is if someone doesn't want to have to worry about or have time to pack a back pack.
Or here's a good survival tip: know where you can find flint from the local geology. That's always a good one, because you can use it for knapping, and also make sparks with it against steel.

You are right, these two old hags would make a great Halloween costume. Modern day witches!

This is pure evil, a grown adult killing 2 innocent young children. I can’t even imagine the pain and anguish this mother is experiencing. No doubt NY state does not have the death sentence but anyone who deliberately kills a child like this deserves nothing more than a death sentence!

Dang, I thought the same thing!

The guilty always run. Conduct illegal activity… suffer the consequences, a terrible and hard lesson learned.

That’s what I do. I made the decision to put my career on hold (60 hour weeks outside the home) to be available to my children, especially with our youngest child having autism. It sure put a huge dent in our finances, but that is no sacrifice compared to the peace and mind, knowing our kids are safe and sound with me.

What a petty boob Obama is. He’s been ‘personally’ attacking Romney for sometime now, obvious tell tell signs of desperation.

I wasted 1:15 mins watching it before I shut it down. Guess my humor bone is on the fritz tonight!
Mine must be also ... I thought the actual debate was funnier.

Gone are the days when someone could’t pay the bills, you just don’t issue them anymore credit! I’m sure Merkel wishes it were that easy. The Germans seem to be the only financial engine driving the entire European Market.

Have you ever seen a President who hates his countrymen more than this bloke on that pulpit! My gosh I hope the duped idiots who voted for him are shamed by their ignorance, I have a little to zero respect for the man!
