Whoops: Cory Booker Misspeaks Once — Then Twice — About Gun Death Numbers
March 31, 2013 at 11:53pm
From 2011 (last year with FBI statistics released) the number of firearm homocides is 8,583. That’s 23.5 per day.
Not thousands.
Not hundreds.
Not 30.
23.5

The cost of electricity is less than the cost of gasoline because we can produce electricity from coal more efficiently than we can produce motion from gasoline.
Electric vehicles will not likely replace all our vehicle needs, nor are they practicle for most people yet, but they are getting better all the time. My wife has a first generation Prius that is approaching 200K miles and running strong. It’s NEVER need a brake job, although I did put about $1800 into the battery once. We average about 43 mpg. Gen 2/3 Prius has better batteries and go 300k+ without battery maintenance.
‘We Were Heartbroken’: Wounded Warrior Project Reportedly Refused to Take Church’s ‘Religious in Nature’ Donation
February 2, 2013 at 11:53am
They have also recently snubbed the entire firearms community as well. There are many other organizations that help vets and wounded vets that are more efficient as well.

I never wore red shorts in the Corps, but I did get woken up one night in Khandahar and stood in my fighting postition in my long underwear, flack jacket, boots, and kefvlar helmet. At least my polypro long underwear was an earth color.

It does not matter what faith you profess, what gender you are, or what color skin you have. The members of the Supreme Court are supposed to utilize the same logic and reason on every case.
Any judge that cannot do that doesn’t belong on the court. Choosing one judge over another for superficial reasons (such as religion or skin color or sex versus the percentage of populace) is some form of hate to which I do not know the name.
I do not care if the next nominee is a red haired, agnostic, former Marine or a brown skinned, former Jewish leader so long as the nominee judges on intellect, reason, and the constitution instead of emotion, religion, or ethnic background.
Joe Biden: ‘Mental Capacity’ Check May Have Prevented Virginia Tech Shooting
January 26, 2013 at 12:24pm
-State of Virginia knew for over a year before the shootings that Cho was a threat to himself and others.
-state of Virginia had a policy to report such people, but no clear mechanism.
-the FBI was never informed, so they never flagged him in the NICS background check.
-cho purchased guns and killed people.
-Virginia, now has one of the best systems for reporting threats to self and others to the FBI.
-other states should use their system, end of story.
Man Sues Over GA’s Refusal to Allow Pro-Gay ’4GAYLIB,’ ‘GAYGUY’ & ‘GAYPWR’ Vanity License Plates

That’s different because the plate itself is the statement. Here it’s the part chosen by individual.
As I understand it, in North Carolina, you could still have a plate that has the letters “CHSLIFE” or “PROLIFE” or something similar. Let a person put what they want on their plate, who freaking cares.
McDonald’s to Pay $700,000 to Muslim Groups Over Islamic Dietary Law Dispute
January 22, 2013 at 1:16pm
I hate to say it, but McDonalds screwed up. If they didn’t have halal or kosher or whatever, then they should say it is. My wife has food allergies and you bet your **** I’d sue them if they gave her something that made her sick because it contained something they said it didn’t.
McDonalds, say what you mean and mean what you say. Or maybe, say what you cook and cook what you say?
Groupon Distances Itself From Gun Community: Indefinitely Suspends All Gun-Related Deals
January 22, 2013 at 1:06pm
I sent them a polite email informing them that I will not be using any of their deals until they stop scapegoating gun owners and again offer firearms related deals.
