  • All of you people upset by this need to get real. I can guarantee you all would be outraged if some passage from the Koran was posted at a school. But because its a passage from your religion, you think it’s the downfall of America.

  • Systems of surveillance and censorship. Hustling down the path to tyranny…

“Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission.”

  • Actually Junkman, you are wrong. No need for ID by law unless you are suspected of having committed a crime. The police can ask for ID but you can refuse as long as you’re not in a vehicle.

If a cop asks for your ID, ask them if they have reasonable suspicion that s crime has been committed or is about to be committed. If they say they suspect you’ve committed a crime or are about to, ask them what crime. That’s usually when they start to backpedal and make stuff up. “We’ll, how do I know you don’t have warrants?”, etc.

If your on foot, and have not committed a crime, you do not have to produce ID.

Now, all that said, it doesn’t mean you won’t end up getting arrested. Cops have any number of “contempt of cop” charges they can bring you up on. They’ll probably all be dropped by the DA, but that won’t prevent you from spending a night in jail. Well worth it if it lets you teach our masters, err I mean the police that the peasants have rights. Exercise your rights, or lose them. 4th amendment may be weak right now, but we can fix it with action.

  • So, another republican who doesn’t believe in the Constitution…just what we need.

Great idea, say your for a limited government and then support using force to disarm the public. Limited government at its finest.

Say your for a limited government but support e-verify and give the Feds the ultimate
say in whether or not you get a job. “Please Mr. Government, can I please get this job?”

  • TheDenseDonkey

“Accepting ideology that is counter to everything we believe make us hypocrits and only spurs the left on.”

Actually, its hypocritical for you to believe in limited government when it suits you and believe in government intrusion into private citizens lives when it doesn’t suit you.

You either believe in individual liberty and freedom or you don’t. So let me get this straight. You believe in limited government and individual liberty EXCEPT when you don’t like the outcome of such freedom?

Get with it. Either believe in limited government or don’t. You forcing your beliefs on others is no different than B.H.O and liberals forcing their ridiculous beliefs on us. And it’s no different than what is happening in Egypt right now with the Muslim Brotherhood.

I’m so tired of hearing republicans claim to be for limited government in one sentence, and then turning around and saying, “marijuana prohibition is a good for the country.” or “the govt. should stop two consenting law abiding adults from getting married.” in the next sentence.

There’s only one hypocrite in my mind. Those who claim to be for smaller government only when it suits them and big brother when it doesn’t.

  • Rohawk, you have got to be kidding me.

“Conservtivism is about giving people the freedom to do the right thing”

Who decides what is the “right thing”? Conservatism is about promoting individual liberty, limited government, and maximum freedom. The religious right has distorted conservatism so much that many people agree with your viewpoint, and it’s not helping the party at all.

  • Pretty sure gay couples just want the same LEGAL rights as those of married couples.

I always think its funny that Christians pass judgement on others despite what the Bible says about passing Judgement on others. God will make the final judgement about who is fit for his kingdom, not any of you.

  • Everyone who thinks that the government should legislate their religious beliefs on others should create a new party. The Christian Brotherhood. Who knows, maybe you’ll be as successful as the Muslim Brotherhood has been.

You’re no different. You want to dictate your religious beliefs on others, even if they don’t hold those same beliefs. Same exact thing that’s happening in Egypt right now.

Stop pretending to be for limited government when you’re actually not. The problem with the Republican party isn’t the people who believe in more freedom and less government intervention. It’s the hypocrites that claim that they are for a limited government and then turn around and proclaim that they want the federal government to intervene in the lives of law abiding citizens. Whether they’re trying to get married or trying to smoke pot.

You can’t be for limited government and believe in dictating your beliefs on others. Quit pretending to be a conservative.

  • All of you people who want legislation based on your religious beliefs sound very familiar to another group who wants to pass legislation based on their religious beliefs…The Muslim Brotherhood.

You want the government to tell its citizens what it can and cannot do all while proclaiming to be for limited government. How are you any different than the Muslim brotherhood dictating their religious beliefs on people who may not hold those same beliefs? You agree with our government doing the same thing just with a different religion. This country was founded on freedom of religion, not “You shall do as my bible says!” You wouldn’t like a Muslim government dictating their beliefs on you, so don’t dictate your religious beliefs on others. You don’t have to like gay marriage or even accept it, but to support the government in restricting goes against your so called conservatism.

Don’t pretend to be for limited government and keeping the government out of our lives if you want the government to dictate your religious beliefs on others who don’t hold those beliefs.

You’re either for freedom, and a limited government or you’re just as bad as big government liberals and muslim governments who want to dictate their beliefs on others.

  • Exactly right. Im really hoping the republican party embraces more freedom and less government, even when it doesn’t comport with their values. Otherwise, they’ve officially lost my vote until they actually embrace a small government philosophy.

I voted for Romney in this election despite many misgivings because Obama was far worse. Looking back now, I wish I had voted for Gary Johnson if for no other reason than to send a message to fake “small government except when i dont like the outcome” republicans.
