How ironic…. isn’t interviewing an empty chair just like interviewing Obama, face to face?

This is NO SURPRISE. My dad retired from Los Angeles County Fire Dept, and a brother retired from another department up the coast. MANY of the ‘heros’ we have on the west coast go out on medical, claiming it job related. I know for a FACT that many of them hurt themselves on side jobs, where they undercut contractors because they already have a very very very lucrative job driving a shiny red truck.
They sleep on my dime, they work out on my time, they drive around in my vehicle, using my fuel, shopping on my time. They sleep in three (3) new firestations that cost an average of $11.3 MILLION dollars each (yes, I have the facts), while you and I, as THEIR EMPLOYER, have to listen to them bitch and moan that they are worked too hard for what they make.
Well, when you are pulling down over $100,000 dollars a year, and that is twice with your employer, the taxpayer makes, I think you need to take a **** pill……
To classify them all as heros is a slap in the face of those that are true heros. Take a Marine, for one. They charge in the direction of bullets, making $22,000 a year, and don’t expect a free donut when they stop in your resturant….
Will you still feel this way when they charge into your home that's on fire and put their life on the line trying to save you and your property or save your life after some drunk hits you or you blow a tire and roll your car on the highway?
Not all firefighters are on the take and most do not make anywhere near a hundred grand a year.

I live in this BrokeBack State,,,,,, and it pisses me off. LA County just passed an ordinance that makes the use of footballs and frisbees ILLEGAL on beaches, and violators will be fined $1000.00.
So……. this City, this County, THIS STATE is so far gone the only thing saving the rest of the nation is a 8.0 earthquake. Hopefully our infected state will break off and sink…..

My son just finished his tour there, and because of the politically-correct decisions that are being made, instead of war-winning and life-saving decisions, he is leaving the Corp.
When he witnessed a Taliban buring IED’s in a field, radiod the positions in, and was told that he “didn’t know what he was looking at and should shut up”, only to find out later in the day that villagers were killed when then walked on one, he came to the realization that his life is not worth the career of an officer that doesn’t HAVE THE BALLS to do what is RIGHT.
I would love to thank the author of the article. He undoubtedly has given up his career for the greater good of TRUTH.
I have an Afgan hat, vest, and a pistol from the 80's (not telling how acquired) and the work they did then to the Russians was the same as they did to Alexander The Great 2000 years ago, and will do the same to us. The difference between them now and when the Great tried is that they now grow heroin, have modern weapons, and are fueled by islamic evil. Their animistic beliefs give them a longing for an early death. Not at all unlike the WWII Kamakaizi, which makes for an enemy that must be engaged fiercely (Truman's answer ???) or simply get out.

Typical ‘shoot the messenger’ mentality.
My son, when in 3rd grade, would come home with torn clothing, a gift from a 6th grade bully. When I asked my son why he didn’t report it, his response was ‘he would be benched with the bully’. After storming into the Principle’s office and demanding an answer, I was told by this Liberal Loon that she couldn’t just reprimand the bully – it would hurt his feelings!!!
… two weeks later, my son was out of that school….
…… I would have hurt his feelings, starting at the base of his skull – his A.$. $.

If Matel decided to come out the the pull-string Biden Doll, I’d stand in line to buy it.
…. the only problem is – would there be enough memory for all his gaffs?

Being the father of a Marine, my heart goes out to this family. Nothing can replace the loss of their son.

Potatoe, potawto, tomato tomawto…..
Liberals are the WORST offenders of racism. They see it lurking around ever corner, in every spoken or written word.
And yet they are the ones that use racist terms every day, and see the boogie man everywhere…..
Talk about thin skinned….

I’m an arborist, and in California. This is NOT a freak case. This is what happens when you have careless, and untrained, individuals operating machinery that they are not trained for.
This industry has a high accident rate, along with mortality, because every Tom, Dick and Harry that has a chain saw, pickup truck and ladder is suddenly a tree trimmer. There are accidents weekly in this industry, the large percentage caused by untrained individuals.
I’ve shown videos to my crews where 5 year olds, working with their illegal parents, are killed when ingested by the chippers. I’ve shown videos where climbers are tied to the trunk they are cutting, pulled to their death by their own stupidity.
What it comes down to is the consumer hiring these low-cost-cheap-do-it-for-a-song-and-a-dance individuals because they are 1/2 the cost of a professional.
In the end, the consumer gets what they pay for – a lawsuit from the victims family.
Say Recon Dad..... I'd really like to see those vids. Post 'em somewhere and get back to me will ya?
Sounds to me like you're rather disdainful of free market competition...
If your problem is illegals, then be forthright with that in your comments, but don't use them to push an agenda of government regulations and progressivism because it helps your personal situation.
If I had to make a law based on your comment here, it would be to ban hired contractors from suing property owners over their own negligence...
Not related at ALL to the wood chipper, but your comment about "Every Tom, Dick and Harry" resonates with me. Same deal in the photography business. Every Tom, Dick and Harry that has a $500 camera from Best-Buy is not selling themselves as a wedding photographer. I tell someone I charge $995 and up for a basic wedding photography package, and they say John Smith has a "nice looking camera" and offered to do the "same thing" for $150. I then try to explain that I have over $15,000 in cameras an lenses because a $500 camera just can't do what professional equipment can.
I see the same things all day long in nearly every business. Everyone that has a color laser printer now thinks they can be a printing company. Everyone with a hammer now thinks they can be a handyman. Anybody with a paint roller thinks they are a painter. People will hire these wannabes, then when things turn sour they say "all photographers are crooks, all handymen break things, all painters do a bad job..."
You get what you pay for...
If you don't want your front yard full of body parts, hire a professional arborist.
I am a gutter cleaner in the northwest. I carry license and insurance, and when customers tell me they found someone cheaper (I am the cheapest insured cleaner in my market) I explain to them if their guy puts a foot through the roof or falls and injures himself that is on the homeowner. I still get plenty of work even though uninsured cleaners can undercut me. There is no law requiring insurance or anything more than a master license for my line of work, and I would prefer to keep it that way. I even keep of few of the cheep guys numbers in my address book for the jobs I don't want to handle. I get to pick and choose my jobs and maintain a pro image by always having an answer for customers even if I don't want to touch their house (and I sometimes get a finders fee for the referrals) At the end of the day it was this guys own fault for not knowing how to operate a machine that is capable of turning a tree into dust in a matter of seconds. Both sad and avoidable. If I dont know how to use something dangerous or not I wait till someone shows me how to use it before I turn it on
Sorry Devil-Dog, you guys should have had a shout as well. Maybe you guys were too stealthy, too fast to locate...
I agree with you.Marines however many times aren't publicily acknowledged.Never have been either. In some cases its for security reasons[probaly more times than any of us will ever know.]For whats its worth I want to say it to your son and all others in the marine corp
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE MARINES>THEY WON"T ACKNOWLEDGE YOU>I WILL FOREVER>
Dedicated to your son in particular and also to every marine who has is or ever will serve.
Remember guys when every one else fails, including the rest of the service branchs they call you.You are first in, last out and have the guts ,that the rest couldn't begin to have.
By the way next time someone wants to diengrate you.Give them this message by asking the following
Do you know the only branch of service that has always been voluntary?Thats right the US MARINES.
Usually they will shut right on up.
Yes I do have a soft spot for the marines. It was my dads branch of service. He served in ww2.

I think by the time the rest of the US will be awake, we will have already ‘locked and loaded’ for the last time….
My goodness, are people that stupid now? I thought, with the push for university attendance, we’d actually have a population with a higher IQ.
My father (who I finally figured out was always right by the time I was the ripe old age of 25) always told me to never underestimate the stupidity of the American people. I said, "yeah, dad, you're right, about half of them are idiots." "No, son...., more like 85 percent."

It is offensive…..
… but since I’m here, why don’t I put in my caption….
“OMG! I’ve been ……. by Obama”

If it ‘leaned’ any further, it would be laying down…..
…. as a matter of fact, you’ve leaned so far you head is in Obama’s lap……
