If it was slander, then the coaches would have cause to sue him for damages. But to use a school/school district to censure and censor his speech is unethical and unconstitutional. As what he did was done on HIS time, on HIS dime, and at a location OTHER than the school would preclude their involvement, except as the alleged slander. If they really were interested in justice, the school could have joined the hypothetical law suit with the coaches. But this is another example of the over-the-top, 'Big Brother is Watching' attitude being taken by so many socialist/communist tainted indoctrination factories impersonating public schools.
BTW, rap is not my cup of tea either, but speech is speech. If it isn't slander, then it's protected. If it is slander, then there are other venues to punish it.
Not widely then, since real Christians don't try to force their will on others.
Real. Please state what a real Christian is. Make sure you consult the original source for the definition
7truth, you, like so many others on the Christian right, seem to have forgotten two major parts of your Bible. Free will, given by your God. 'Judge not, lest ye be judged'. And yet, the Christian right continues in its efforts to eliminate free will and to judge non Christians by Christian standards. Original source enough for you?
He might be well known among rednecks, but my college educated Catholic wife never heard of him. He is probably from some Dixie carp hole where propel will believe any BS.
real- I know hundreds of Christians personally, and thousands by communication. Not a single one of them has forgotten free will. Free will is a critical part of God's image in us. it makes genuine love and morality possible. It explains coherently all of the negatives we see in the world today. It is one of the core beauties of Jesus redemption of mankind, and is at the core of thou misuse the passage you cited, in an attempt to create a straw man. Christians are clearly told to point out sin, and to confront people in it. Stating that it is a moral wrong to abort a child is not judging. We are called to live holy lives, and encourage others to do the same. We are called to point out sin, for the purpose of seeing others repent and turn to Jesus for forgiveness. We are called to do this boldly, with humility, and with reverent fear toward God, knowing that we also need his grace. God's standards are not christian or non christian. They are God's standards. He will judge all people according to them. Christians are those who wish to see others rescued from that judgement. None of wish to eliminate free will. without it, the choice to repent, seek forgiveness, trust and obey Jesus, and live in hope and joy would not be possible. In addition, justice would not be possible.
You are the one who consistently judges others on these boards.
Real- See the post from ultrasecularlib for a good example of what Jesus meant when he said "judge not"
real- you have repeatedly made comments about christians- what they are, who they should be, how they should behave. I have asked before, and did here, for you to give a definition of "christian". It would be important to use the original sources of information for that, since your references seem to be those of a specific faith position. Are you willing to do that?
The bit about judge not lest ye be judged is possibly one of the most misapplied verses in the Bible. It is not simply a command to abandon judgment, it is a call to right judgement. This is borne out elsewhere in scripture where in John 7:24 it says: "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."
Plenty of Canadians do not speak English????… Really, I grew up i Maine – right on the border (I mean RIGHT on the border – I could walk to canada)… I never knew a canadian that could not speak english.. they might have a french accent but they spoke and understood english

unless you KNOW he is a felon you do not SHOT him.
Cops have to be ready in each situation as worse case for their protection
replace the black guy with a 18 year old white high school cheerleader…. see what people think then
I see your point, but you're acting as if the way someone looks, acts and dresses is not taken into consideration. White cheerleader acting the same way, with the same deflecting, avoiding and non compliant behavior would still raise red flags to any officer. If "she" was trying to drive off (let's say realistic scenario she was drunk driving) the Officer is still justified in being threatened. The threat is in the behavior, ALL of it, not the color of one's skin. Stop being so ignorant in claiming race.

We have the democrat governor, thanks to Penn State Alumni and the Teachers Union.
Add to that, the masses of confusion within Philly and Pittsburg

the argument that Christians tolerate X (adultery, divorce, etc) so they should turn a blinded eye to homos – is crazy
2 wrongs do not make a right…
And frankly REAL CHRISTIAN are few and far between… they are a small flock…. I am guessing less then 20% of americans are REALLY obedient Followers of Jesus Christ.
I believe (or at least I hope) that the percentage of fundamentalist Christians is much lower...we've all seen the dangers of when people take their religion too seriously or too literally
I agree. The church has openly embraced whoredom for decades and subsequently used homosexuality as the whipping boy. I have actually heard persons in my church say that homosexuality is the worst of all sins. That isn't Biblical at all.
I find it interesting that the "church" chooses now to take a stand for morality. Homosexuality is just the natural progression when whoredom has been in the church for years. Couples are living together in an impure state prior to marriage and most turn a blind eye. The divorce rate among "Christians" is indistinguishable from that of the heathen.
I suppose I could take a "better late than never" attitude, but I don't really know what that would yield. The church needs an awakening to true spirituality and faith.
I know many gay men. I don't hate them at all. I tell them of God's love for them. My heart breaks to see how many fine young men have been beguiled by Satan into a life of destruction and pain.
I also lament that the church has mostly turned their back on the gays. I see church outreach ministries to hookers and drunks and drug addicts. I see prison ministries. I see missionaries going to countries on the other side of the world where God is the last thing on anyone's mind.
I don't see a rush to convert the gays. I've actually heard Christian leaders say they are beyond salvation. If the blood of Jesus Christ cannot save a homosexual from Satan's snare then we are all doomed and most miserable.
