  • Some people would complain if you hung them with a new rope, if she is so dense that she doesn’t understand the message than she probably isn’t even a real Indian either.

  • Even as a teenager when the abortion issue first came up, my first thought was if you can control who is being born, the next step is deciding when some one should die. I never thought I would live to see that evolve, but I have. I would commit suicide before I would utter the words this woman did. Does she also suggest a one year, five year satisfaction guarantee on a parent’s right to terminate the child’s life as well?. At what point does the “right of parental choice” end? Sounds like she read and subscribes to the ideas of the Immanuel brothers and Cass Sunstein, obam buddies and advisors. Lord have mercy on her soul because I’m not sure I can. At some point America has to decide when enough is enough….

  • If ignorance is in fact bliss, there are quite a few on this blog today that are living in paradise. For the obvious bliss filled cop haters, bet your attitude changes when you need one. If surrounded by a group of gang bangers, who do you call, who do you want to show up? Cops or Ghost Busters?

For the few occasions I’ve ever had to interact with police officiers, had my home burgularized, or got pulled over for speeding (my bad), I’ve shown them nothing but the respect they deserve and have received absolute respect in return. Now I’ ve witnessed hot heads mouthing off and being rude to officers, not so much respect flows between them, but you get what you give.
Like most of the intelligent people here, I do not patronize gun free zone businesses, as the one poster comments, there were two theaters closer to to the home of the shooter in CO, he passed them up and went to the Gun Free theater instead, if you can’t read the message in that it’s because you can’t read.

  • Maybe they did, but I suspect seeing this girl kiss her “fixed” hamburger was all of a tip they needed!

  • Dear Pro. Poole,

I’m positive that you have received your fair share of hate mail over this incident. Hate accomplishes nothing that is good. Not according to Jesus, Mohammed or Buddha anyway.

I am curious however, if your motive was to teach students about reactions to religious principle or doctrine, there should in my humble uneducated opinion been “no wrong answer”.

Learning instead would have occurred had you examined the thinking of those who quickly stomped the name, those who hesitated before doing so and the one who refused to do so. Just think of the wonderful discussions that could have followed.

What did you intend to teach? In my again humble, uneducated opinion, all that was learned that day was that following your core beliefs and refusing to do something intrinsically wrong to you, results in unbending judgment and punishment. There are those who refuse military service based on their religious beliefs, many ran to Canada and others served honorably without using a weapon.

As a Christian first and an American second, I would have refused to stomp on any religious symbol, regardless of the religion it symbolized. Our constitution wisely instructs us to allow freedom of religious expression, not specifying any particular religion.

I don’t expect that you will respond to my email, but felt I wanted to let you know my thoughts on the off chance that you would share yours and clear up my confusion.

  • Had this exercise been to examine the reactions of the students there would not been a punishment for refusal but a discussion of the many different reactions seen in the class room to the request. That would have been a learning experiance. BUT, this was not about learning it was about desecrating the name of the Greatest spiritual leader in the world who we Christians know to be the Son of our God. I feel incredibly sad and bad for the students so lacking in moral character that they did not refuse to do this. I would not stomp on the name Mohammed or Buddha either but that’s out of respect for another’s right to believe as they wish. Isn’t that what America believes in, that is the freedom of religious expression? Sorry atheist, I didn’t mean you leave you out but your religion doesn’t offer anything to stomp, love or hate and you can’t stomp on nothing, there is no such thing as empty space on this planet.

  • Not sure what message you’re trying to send, I am not a Morman, I do consider myself a Christian and there is no man, woman or world leader who could make me stomp a paper with the name of Jesus written on it. To imply that because you are a Morman makes you less likely, well Harry Reid identifies himself as a Morman, anything else needed to be said? We are all Christians if we follow Christ, denomination is just the means in which we follow/study the teachings of Christ. The commitment we each make to those teachings, that’s a matter for God to judge, not you or I.

  • Those in control cannot do this without the complicity of the teachers! If they but refuse to teach it when they know it’s not true then the plot to dumb down our kids would not work, would it? They have to walk out of a class room, just a few times and all would change yet, the only time they walk out is when they want more money. I hate it when obam parades them in front of us and makes them seem like heros when all that most of them are is mindless robots who will teach lies willingly, selling out the minds of our children for pay.

  • We have got to get the Unions and communists out of defining what our children are taught. My nephew came home telling me how our WW2 soldiers were cowards who ran for cover whenever confronted by the enemy. Once I calmed myself, (no easy task I assure you), I re-educated him on the subject and make a visit to his school! There was lots of sputtering from the administrator who informed me that they are given no choice over curriculum and text books. I have a friend who studied to be a teacher and then found she could not teach the crab they gave her to teach, she left teaching as a result.
