  • Question:
Where in the 5th Amendment did our Founders write, “you have the right to remain silent”?
    Answer:
    No where!

No such Constitutional right was ever created by our Founders!

  • If Christianity were truly a religion, would it not have at least been mentioned once in The New Testament? It is The Catholics who morphed it into a religion. Jesus Christ claimed only to be expanding on The Jewish faith.

We are Christians only because Christ was rejected, as Messiah, by The Jews. Had they accepted Christ as Messiah, as millions of us do, the word Christian may not have even existed.

Christian is a belief in the teachings of, and acceptance of, Jesus Christ. Period!

And, Bill is right, to the extent that Judeo-Christian principles were applied to The Foundation of this union of states. And, they are inseparable from our history!

  • Ramble on, Senator, Ramble on. What an empty-suit!

  • THETWILIGHTZONE,
That is why I suggested, in my above post, that we demand that Government NOT be involved in the subject, at all. If we have a corrupt Government, it stands to reason that they will continue to make corrupt laws. Why don’t we just let people decide for themselves? That way, no church will be forced by any civil laws, to accept anything that they do not want to.

  • DOCMD,
I definitely agree, that, Rome fell, largely, because of immorality; but, in many cases, it was also Government policies who led the people astray. If a Government becomes corrupt, it stands to reason that they will codify corruptive laws. Therefore, as a Christian myself, I have been recently pondering if Government should be involved in this at all? Certainly, from our Biblical view, God created woman for man, and man for woman. But, thus far, my research keeps leading me back to the institution of marriage being a man-made institution. And, even back in Biblical days, marriages were arrangements between families, with no Government involvement whatsoever.

My final point is, when our Government does involve itself in these things, it then, does become a Constitutional issue; which does lead citizens to look for Equal Protections etc. under the Law.

Therefore, I go back to my original question – which is, should Government just say, marriage is between two people, and the Government has no authority to tilt the scale one way or the other? As well as removing all “marriage” benefits etc. Wouldn’t that put it back between the person (s), God, and those who are being asked to perform the service?
