  • I’m interested in chapter and verse for all these notions you put forth, tradcath. I don’t believe truth springs full formed from the pate of your popes. Nowhere in the Bible is Mary deified.

  • I will add on the idea that Mary is a mediator between man and God the scripture in 1 Timothy 2.

For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as ransom for all people.

    Period.

  • Insulting my intelligence doesn’t do much to bolster whatever it is your are trying to claim, tradcatholicgirl.

You are right, sonofthunder. Chuck Missler says an interesting thing when he talks about the nature of the Bible how it has the property of a hologram in that it tells the whole story on page after page so that if pages were missing whole story would still be the same. For example in Genesis 6 where the genealogy of the first ten generations from Adam the Hebrew meaning of the names in order means “Man (is) -appointed to -mortal sorrow (but) -the blessed God -shall come down -teaching (that) -his death -shall bring (the) -despairing -rest.” That is the whole story and it is all over the Bible. The other aspect he compares to a hologram is that in order to view a hologram it must be looked at with the light that created it shining on it. I love that. You understand the Bible because the Holy Spirit lights it for you, I know before I was born again it was like trying to read ashes, but once the Holy Spirit dwelt in me it became in living color and I couldn’t get enough of it.

    God bless both of you.

  • Mariology includes among others the doctrines of the immaculate conception of Mary, which would make her her own mother by the way, the perpetual virginity of Mary, which would make her a bad wife and deny her other children, the assumption of Mary, which the Bible does not say, and her role as co-redemptrix and mediatrix, making her equal with Jesus Christ who said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

The last pope doubled down on the RC focus on Mary, he was dedicated to her.

After Constantine converted to the Christian faith and stopped the persecution of Christians the Christian church is Rome changed. It began to embrace pagan practices and pagan ideas including the worship of Semiramis under various names. That practice continues today. That church in Rome became the Roman Catholic church.

I only know what I read and what the Holy Spirit gives me insight to understand.

  • I only know what I read and what I see when I attend mass with my relatives occasionally and what I hear from them. I’m sure there are many Christians in the RCC somehow, maybe they don’t listen to what is said, maybe they read their Bibles. The Bible calls Christ’s church the saints. The Bible says we know NOTHING when we are dead. Dead saints don’t mediate in men’s affairs but there are spiritual beings who do and we are warned in the Bible to avoid them like the plague.

“There are several Marys in the Bible, but by far the most important is Mary, the Mother of Jesus. She is known by many titles, including the Blessed Virgin Mary (sometimes abbreviated BVM), Queen of Heaven, Theotokos (Mother of God) and Our Lady (Notre-Dame in French; Madonna in Italian).

Because of her humility, piety and role as the mother of the Savior of humanity, Mary has been accorded great respect in all branches of Christianity and is a favorite subject in art, music and literature. In Catholic and Orthodox Churches, Mary is the pre-eminent saint and the focus of much popular devotion.

This article explores historical and modern Christian beliefs about Mary (known as “Mariology”), which includes such doctrines as the Immaculate Conception of Mary, the Virgin Birth of Christ, the perpetual virginity of Mary, the Assumption of Mary, Mary as “Theotokos,” and Mary as Coredemptrix and Mediatrix.”

  • The important thing is that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin (who married Joseph and went on to have other children and who is NOT Semiramis the Roman Catholic perpetual virgin savior of mankind who speaks to people and gives them visions), that Christ died for our sins, that he rose on the third day and sits NOW at the right hand of God the Father. He is not on a cross. He is not crucified again and again at the behest of priests. We do not eat his flesh and drink his blood at an altar on Sunday. He lives and He will come again.

I don’t even understand why the Pope would be interested in Christ since it is “Mary” the RC focuses on.

  • 652 comments I’m not surprised, and yet I can’t think of a thing to say about this. It’s a truly stunning statement said from the highest heights or arrogance. It just seriously trips my brain and leaves me sputtering. These people have got to go.

  • We need a miracle in this nation that is under God’s judgement and cursed with Barack Obama. Maybe we’re seeing one.

  • Well well . . . Of course Romney does have a lot of money and could rain hell on Santorum while Gingrich could only chew his ankles a little. The action seems nebbish to me. So do the sweater vests. Santorum ought to lose them.

  • His comment sounds like that of a lost soul. Perhaps God will touch Liam’s spirit and reassure him of his love.
