  Joe, you’re misled on this issue, Atheists don’t want to tell people what to believe, we want the US Gov to stop telling US what to believe. That is the distinction. And you’re right this country was founded on religious freedom, but not on an established religion. It states quite specifically this point in the constitution. Also btw, the In God We Trust wasn’t added to the money until 1957, almost 200 years AFTER the constitution was written.

  I usually agree with Bill, but he looked like a belligerent idiot during this segment. He claimed that Christianity isn’t a religion? I think he’s in the EXTREME minority on this point. It may be a philosophy, but it’s also certainly a religion. He got zinged by Mr. Silverman and his ego couldn’t take it so he got mad and reduced the discussion to petty semantics. I agree to a point with Mr. Silverman, if the Gov was making Ramadan a national holiday and banks were closed and we were forced to celebrate it or at least forcibly partake of it, then there would be an uproar in America. Just because a majority thinks things should be a certain way doesn’t make it the right way. The beauty of America is that it celebrates the rights of the individual, not just the rights of the majority. I have no problem with Christmas, I’m an atheist and it doesn’t offend me in any way, I celebrate St. Paddy’s Day too, yet I’m not Irish, Pictures of Jesus no more offend me than do pictures of Santa Claus. To each his own I say, but do so in peace. Bill just looked like an ass in this segment and he’s better than that.

  and it’s leading to where we don’t want to be, and we’ll all arrive there on our own.
  It’s not too late to turn around and see the smiles of yesterday,

  Do you remember what that flag looked like, raised high upon that pole,
  and do you remember the pledge of allegiance being said, before the school bell did toll?
  Was a prayer before a football game, really so out of line?
  If it was merely for the safety of, both your teammates and mine?
  Have we gotten so far from home that we can’t find our own way back,
  are we so lost now that we’re all alone, and slipping through the cracks?

  When star spangled eyes go blind, there’s no freedom to be seen,
  and when life’s little liberties get lost behind, a veil of bureaucracy
  its time then to raise our hand, stand up and share a word,
  to challenge the way things are today, and let our voices all be heard.

  They want that cross torn down, that commemorates the lives lost in WWII,
  for they say it doesn’t represent all religious points of view,
  But they forget that the men that sacrificed, did so for me and you,
  whether the soldiers were of Christian faith, a Muslim, or a Jew.
  It’s America that they were fighting for, and the rights of all within,
  and it’s with shame that some have cursed the name
  of those heroic women and men.

  I”m all for this, I mean, for how long have religious organizations reached out and tried to indoctrinate young impressionable minds with their dogma??? It was the Jesuits that said, “get them young, and the possibilities are endless” There is nothing wrong with the humanist movement doing the same thing. There is freedom of religion, so there should also be freedom FROM it!!!

  Our border is like a piece of Swiss cheese and Al Qaeda WILL take advantage of that.
  Our president doesn’t stand with our allies, and appeases our enemies, refuses to let us become energy independent and increases the welfare state exponentially, yet he is reelected again???
  The America I grew up in and was so proud of is now dead. The Liberal Socialist Media and Democratic supporters won tonight, it was a hollow victory; but they got what they asked for.

  Congratulations! Just remember one more thing. When you can’t get a job, can’t get food stamps or welfare because all the illegals are usurping the benefits they didn’t contribute to; when you lose a loved one because there was no doctor on shift to help them, When Al Qaeda transports a dirty bomb up through Mexico because Obama refused to secure the borders and we’re thrown into another world war. When this war is with the Muslim Brotherhood and our once great ally Israel has been destroyed by Iran, whom will you turn to then? Will his speeches and rhetoric save us? I don’t think so and when you come to my door asking for my help, all you’ll receive is a shotgun barrel pointed at your face and the comment,
  YOU SHOULD HAVE VOTED FOR THE PATRIOT!
