Remember…police are the only ones trained and qualified to be given firearms.

At 2000 yds, my ballistics calculator for Hornaday 185 gr 300 win mag shows you’d come up just over 21 mil – 312 ft lbs of energy left (about the same energy a 9 mm has at 20 yds) – possible

@Silverhammer….if you actually read the interview with Kyle…he talks about “hearing” about guys at Katrina (mostly Blackwater types) killing Americans. Could it have happened? Yes. Blackwater types were in NO and they’re a scores of people still unaccounted for. In his book he never mentions Ventura by name (but he does eventually, give a nod yes is was Ventura, when pressed by a reporter during an interview).

A It was a movie. You have maybe 2 hours to tell the story, books have 800 pages.
B. I believe Kyle ran a 300 Win Mag. His longest confirm I do believe was 2,100 yds. Certainly within the capability of a 300 Win Mag.
C. I don’t know if it stand, I do remember the longest confirm with a 7.62 was 1,450 yds
D. Longest unofficial (50 BMG) was around 3,200 yds (two Australians fired identical rounds, at same target – one hit – unofficial because they don’t know who fired it)
I think I read somewhere that Kyle's rifle was chambered for .338 Lapua, but I could be wrong.
Ok I don’t agree that a win 300 mag is deadly at 2100 yards I think it has lost far too much energy so even level 1 PPE would be sufficient to stop even so it lets go with win 300 mag. Kyle was placed between the sniper and the T-Wall so add another 600 yards for the Iraqi sniper seeing how he was already 2200 meters or 2500 yards away from Kyle. That Iraq Sniper was making consistent shots with a round deadly up to 1000 yards and on a good day 1400 yards. But this Iraqi was shooting at 3000 yards through level 3 PPE of the soldier on the wall. It’s total BS and another Chris Kyle fabrication. If this is indeed true then Chris Kyle is no where near the most accurate and deadly sniper ever the Iraqi was by far and they should have made a movie about him. Read Kyles statements he was a true dirt bag and should have never been allowed into the armed services. He even claimed to snipe Americans during Katrina just for saying that he should have been locked up forever. It shows his true character un-American.

I loved Wolf Blitzed yammering on and on and on about the “deadly snowfall” – 24-36 inches….it would be a lot…for folks in some part of the country we just call that winter

I for the life of me am still trying to figure out who Seth Rogen is? Is he some sort of actor?
I think I have see MM – didn’t he play Jabba in Star Wars?
When you flush your toilet the experience is nearly the same.
The first time I saw Rogan was in 'The 40 Year-Old Virgin". Circa '04 '06 or something like that. It had some excellent (mostly extremely crude) humor and ranked high for the new age mindless. It was mostly Steve Carrell that held the flick together. After the film's rousing success, Rogan's head apparently bloated to the point of no return and thusly, we got some of the worst most crude entertainment of all time. It's what I figger anyhoo.

An AK-47…not really the most accurate firearm to start with…..most of them have iron sights…most of the ones I’ve see are so beaten…zero is like Michael Moore’s toes – a forget memory [to him]

All of his words seem strained, and practiced….as if he feels he has to say them but really doesn’t want to.
Nope…two years…the gloves are off… a stronger America was never his objective…an America molded in his vision is.

In the short run paying $2 at the pump helps…but what happens when they start laying down rigs and idling wells sending all those oil field workers pulling in $80,000 plus per year home and they stop buying? Once the Saudi’s feel they’ve idled enough foreign competition they”ll make up the loss and jack up prices…I’d rather see a change in our oil policy (open up low cost fields the Administration has shut off, allow the US to export again, provide incentives to reduce the cost of extraction)…..$2.50 at the pump from all domestic oil is a hell of a lot better than $2.00 at the pump for Saudi oil.
p.s US regulations significantly add to our costs…not because of the limits but because they also specify how the limits must be attained (there is equivalent, cheaper technology)….we haven’t built a refinery in 30 years due to EPA regulations and permitting killing economics.

True….what hurts them is their Government’s like spending at $80-$90 a barrel rates so they can sustain $50 profitably..eventually…their Government will want the revenue….it’s a waiting game to see who will break first.
I think it’s really aimed at Russia…the US can lay down rigs and idle wells…but those can come back on line quicker….and will force faster innovation (to reduce the extraction price – we sit on more oil in the US than the Middle East and out produce the Saudis – it may not be long before US-Canada-Mexico become OPEC II……)
 January 5, 2015 at 10:44am
Given we out produce Saudi Arabia. and 75% of our oil comes from here with the US, or Canada/Mexico with remainder from Venezuela, Saudi or get this, (Iran) we should (a) ask Congress to completely eliminate the ban on exports (b) look at eliminating the over Government restrictions on drilling (which has closed off access to some of the cheaper oil reserves) (c) look at what incentives we undertake (as national strategic initiatives) to become 100% energy independent inside a decade (I’d rather spend $2.75 at the pump knowing that money was supporting high paying US jobs that $2.00 shipping 25% of that to the middle east).
If you do that it is game over. You will have massive inflation. Our system is built on printing money and sending it overseas for energy. If the dolkars stay home or worse....start flooding back, AND we continue to print...game over. Hyperinflation.
Energy independence is a fantasy in the petrodollar world. You have to end the system for it to work. Ending the system ends our party.
