Not exactly, and that’s quite an overreach on your example. All I’m saying, and what I believe is the main point of Dr. Paul’s tweet, is that actions have consequences. Giving someone who is mentally unstable and suicidal a loaded gun is risky behavior. A better parallel would be those in poverty having unprotected sex with multiple partners. Diseases, child support fights, and baby mama drama (baby daddy, too) are all to be expected when engaging in those risky activities. The message is not that “Chris Kyle deserved to die.” The message is putting our troops through hell in Iraq and Afghanistan for years will have ongoing consequences here at home, and you shouldn’t give loaded guns to mentally unstable people. If we can’t agree on the last part, our problems are bigger than I could ever imagine.

“Hey buddy, I know you are feeling down, mentally unstable, and suicidal. Let’s go grab some guns and squeeze off a few rounds,” said no one with a ounce of sense, ever.
Sorry if this comes across as cold and insensitive, but that’s the truth. The plain, unadulterated truth… no sugar coating. Now, let’s get over ourselves, and back to the issues. Sincere condolences for all the families involved, but this is just adding to the bread and circuses. Drone strikes, conservative victory project, budget deals to increase spending… let’s get our heads back in the game.
