  Actually Kobe Bryant is very intelligent. He speaks English, Italian, some Chinese and learned Serbian to be able to speak to some players on his team. He also scored very high on the SAT.

  That said, he doesn’t have a great past and is a testament to how marketing can improve ones image.

  How many broke their legs on national TV? Millions of people saw it happen. Chances are people want to know how the young man is doing after such a horrific injury. That makes it newsworthy. Part of the greatness of our country is we have some of the worlds most gifted athletes, and in their case we praise their competitive nature.

  I cannot believe how miserable you people are. A story on a site that isn’t exclusively politics about a kid breaking his leg, and you manage to bitch about it.

  Yes, the country is in bad shape. Yes, the main stream media largely ignores it. What you have to realize is alternative media outlets don’t pain the complete picture either. So stop whining about everything that doesn’t fit into your worldview. That’s what liberals are known for.

  As for this kid, I wish him the best in what will be a very difficult rehab process. The psychological factor alone will be brutal. He will be fine though because he knows hard work already, you don’t get playing time on an elite team without it.

  How are you people upset about this? The kid has a sense of humor and a bit of charisma. That’s not a bad thing. He won the game, there is no disputing that.

  I have a feeling many conservatives are fighting the lefts accusations or racism by becoming racist. There was a time when the left was full of whiners. Reading these comments makes it clear that there has been a shift.

  This is a gameshow, in this case it’s a gameshow for teens. Lets not get upset because he fumbled through an answer. Commend him for working hard and being bright enough to make it to this stage. Then realize he won and the intelligence that takes. That makes it much harder for someone who cannot grasp the difference between “you’re” and “your” to criticize him.

  I wouldn’t blame religion for your social struggles. I have friends from all walks of life. Just know when and with who to have religious discussions. Some people are open, others aren’t.

  Plus, there’s always some good Christian girls looking for the bad boy.

  As a nonbeliever, I really don’t like atheists. My rights have never been infringed upon, I have never felt like a second class citizen because our motto has god in it.

  Atheists do not need to group together. I am convinced there is not a god, but I don’t need to hang out with other people just because they share the same conviction. The same way I don’t hang around in a group where everybody agrees that the sky is not purple and the oceans are not made of cheese.
