  • I’m pretty sure being charged with possession of an illegal firearm is the last thing on this doofus’ mind right now. Talk about dicking something up.

  • Starting light and economical may make your entry into the shooting community an easy transition. And welcome. A .22, while not at all a weapon I would personally carry concealed, is a great way to start. The rounds are cost-effective, you’ll be able to familiarize yourself with the operational mechanic of firearms, plinking targets is a boatload of fun and the cost of the weapon itself is very affordble in most cases. Once comfortable and familiar with how you shoot start working your way up the caliber and power ladder to see what works for you. The .357 is good and, personally, I have become a recent proponent of the .40 with a good mix of stopping power, round cost and breadth of weapons available. As many other folks will tell you, the .45ACP is a great one, too.

  • The simplest way to insulate themselves from further liability would be to eliminate the hala items and notice from the buildings. The strength of the big chains is their brand consistency. Serve what the chain, as a whole, serves and let the greater area market determine if the restaurant will succeed or fail. Keep the politics out of it. Politics + business = profit vortex of woe. With that size of muslim community in the area a few halal-specialized mom and pop eateries should do quite well. An enterprising business person may be able to turn that food niche into a bit of a gold mine.

  • It is good to see American sidearms getting back into the hands of our troops, not to mention the .45 has far better stopping power than the 9mm. Get them issued throught the Corps and pressure the DoD to dump the remainder of the Berettas throughout the armed services as well.

  • I’m not sure which of The Five’s lib co-hosts are more painful to try and sit through: Bob Beckel or Juan Williams.

  • A RINO vs. a dogmatic progressive wrestling for the control and future of our country? Ugh! That’s like being asked to eat a thumbtack sandwich. Nothing positive could possible happen, it’ll leave a bad taste in your mouth and in the end, it’ll be nothing but a pain in the ass.

  • During high school (back in the 80′s) one of the most anticipated times of the year for a number of us was the first day of deer hunting season. It was a big deal in the rural community in which I grew up. It was commonplace to bring your boots, gear and firearms with you that morning, stowing them all away in our cars and trucks. It was easier to scoot out right a lunch time and head straght for the woods. Oddly, we often forgot to report back after lunch :) The teachers knew about it, as did the administration. Some of them even took a half day off so they could enjoy the first day of the season, too. That behavior was normal back then and I cannot recall any incident of a firearm mishandling on the grounds or attempted theft of the weapons. That level of societal comfort with firearms has been beaten out of far too many people.

Imagine today if a group of friends wanted to go hunting after school and they brought in their arms with them to be stowed in the prinipal’s office (something we were allowed to do if we so chose). It’d cause all kinds of panic. Different times and different states of the public’s mind.

  • And if you’ve ever seen the movie Waiting you would never eat there again if they do recognize you for leaving the card.

  • This council proposal would infringe on the 2nd Amendment, just in an opposite way that we’re used to seeing out there. We certainly have the Right to bear arms and the government has NO authority to infringe upn it, but that’s different from a mandate to own one. I’m a proud gun owner, but telling a household that they must have a gun crosses a line not terribly dissimilar to telling them that they cannot own a firearm in a specific city (barring felony convictions, mental illness, etc.) if we want to be Constiutionally consistent.
