  I am trying to figure out how to watch it without giving MTV raitings. I thought they were retarded back when I was a teenager. I never understood how a channel called Music Television almost never played Music…

  The closest thing I had to music vidoes was that Total Request Live with Carson Daily…. And it usually was not the whole video.

  Now I don’t even care for the “music” they would play if they DID play music.

  Ghost, this goes back to Black Liberation Theology. The keystone belief being that there are only two groups, the Oppressed and the Oppressor. This obliterates MLK’s dream of equality. The quest to equality, to these people is an attempt to turn the tables and go fromt he Oppressed to the Oppressor. Having grown up in an urban neighborhood, I was very well aquanted with that. I was hurled labels such as C racker, White-Bread, Saltine (As in Saltine C racker), Wonder-Bread, Honkey etc.

  In my schools there was C racker day which was a day the minorities would hunt beat up any white person (including girls) they came across. In my middle school there was a threat of a C racker day if OJ Simpson was found guilty.

  I have been refused service at a Dairy Queen because I was a – and I quote – White Caucasian (leaving one to wonder in what other color caucasians come).

  All this, and I am hispanic, I just happen to have a fair complexion and have always been articulate (I WAS RAISED RIGHT). Being in hispanic circles, I have witnessed some of the most severe prejudice as they discriminate based on ethnicity (i.e. Cubans vs. Purto Ricans). I have black hispanic friends who often confront hispanics for talking crap about him in spanish not knowing he speaks the language. It’s only whites that have to jump through all those hoops not to offend people. The rest of the population sits back and laughs at whites playing word Twister.

  I grew up in an urban neighborhood. I endured labels like White-Bread, *******, Honkey, Red Neck, Columbine (I was in High School when that occurred), Whitey, Wonderbread, Saltine (derived from *******)

  There was ******* Day which was a day that they would beat up a ******* for no reason. Even “friends” would turn on the whitey on that day and help beat him or her down.

  I was in Junior High when they televised OJ’s verdict. And it was declared that if OJ was guilty, there’d be a ******* day.

  Now I read an article on Yahoo by Walter Shapiro who uses the term White-Bread. It was bad enough that he has a hard time callign Obama liberal. But to matter-of-factly use the term….

  And now this MSNBC analyst using the term *******. This is absurd.

  Oh and by the way, I am hispanic (Father is a LEGAL immigrant from South America). I just have a fair complexion, am articulate and was raised by a family that embraced American values.
