  To Byfaith and those addressing the subject of whether Mary remained a virgin after Christ was born, and referencing in particular the fact that He looked upon the disciple whome he loved (John) and told Mary, “Behold your son,” and then told John, “Behold your mother.” It appears you have not considered the possibility that Christ made that statement as much for John’s benefit as for Mary’s. There is no doubt that Jesus loved his disciple John dearly. In fact, John is often depicted as being a young boy. It is entirely possible that the Apostle John was an orphan or from a broken home and was taken in by Jesus and made part of his inner circle. In telling his mother to “behold your son” John as he hung dying on the cross, Jesus was likely commending his mother, Mary, to take his place as John’s guardian. There is thus no contradiction, discrepancy, or need to take offense at the notion that Jesus would have placed Mary and John in a familial relationship if, in fact, Mary did have other children through Joseph. That is, of course, unless one venerates Mary herself as a deity, on equal footing with God. That, of course, would be blasphemy.

  Vandalism? Absolutely. It was the purposeful destruction of private property by someone other than the rightful owner. Terrorism? Certainly not. Terrorism is the purposeful targeting of innocent civilians in order to prompt a reaction from a state (i.e. 9/11/2001, OK City, Atlanta Olympic Park, etc). Texas schools are compounding the error.

  I’d like to know how members of the Black community feel about having their struggle against segregation equated with the fight for special rights for people who have given in to the temptation of same-sex attraction.
