I grew up in a small So. Utah town, LaVerkin, it was a great place settled by the early folks sent by BY to establish an area of fruit trees and vineyards. Many of the old guard’s descendants, town’s original settlers were still there when I was young. Over the past decades, however as folks got tired of CA and other once great states turned socialist, many moved there for the lifestyle and freedom available and before long they were on the city counsel etc. and began to implement laws and city ordinances just like the places where they came from, zoning restrictions and other personal property restrictions, what could and couldn’t’ be done within city limits etc.. Well it’s become a place just like the places where they came from only smaller. Now most of the descendants of the old families that settled have left in disgust. We’re losing what and who we once were, not traditions and no character in many cases.
