This Is How Texas Politicians Are Fighting Against the Atheist-Led ‘War on Christmas’

@SILVERTRUTH
Yeah those part time low wage jobs are really helping people and what about all of the other States who aren’t “booming” and are still passing bills like this?

@JGRAHAM III
Because both an atheist and a Christian, have a “viewpoint” on the world, doesn’t make atheism a religion.
Just because two things share one common factor, doesn’t mean they are then the same thing. By your reasoning then saying, ‘I like football more than baseball” is a religion because it’s a viewpoint of the world.
I have listed what I would call the defining factors of religion. Sure both Atheism and Theism have a viewpoint of the world, but the similarities stop there. To say that it then makes atheism is a religion is downright silly.
Again, Atheists don’t have ONE book that they cherish and go to for guidance for everything.
We don’t have any customs or traditions
We don’t come together one day a week for teaching

No thanks Pope
You can keep worshiping a human sacrifice on your behalf.
Don’t worry, I’ll be the moral one and reject the offering. No one has the right to kill themselves on my behalf and I am not therefore bound by whatever they do.

Another justification
“That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” It doesn’t say, “this man” or “if the man chooses” It’s saying that men and women are created to come together as one flesh.
Paul then later says it’s better to NOT get married but if you can’t avoid your lusts, to go ahead and do it so you aren’t being sinful.
“y bible has a footnote for the words ‘headlong” … that being – “or swelling up” …. so when these two verses are put together it would indicate that Judas hung himself, was left there and not taken down, began to decompose, swelled, and fell … maybe the rope loosened or broke and when he fell, because of the decompossed state of his body it “broke open” … makes perfect sence and logic ”
Can you possibly be a serious adult and write this weak justification? That’s really sad and it kills me to see another adult so indoctrinated that they’re not willing to see a clear contradiction.
“The bible is a puzzle it needs to be put together … and this takes time and effort.” You’re right, I can imagine it takes considerable time and effort to read up on all of the errors in the Bible and then search for childish justifications to keep believing that a book has NO errors at all, not a SINGLE one out of the entire book. Downright silliness.

@JMAN-
Was your comment directed at me?
What you just described sounds like something(someone) I WOULDN’T want to be around.
“If they were True Believers they would tell you about finding a peace that transcends all understanding. ”
That’s just the thing, you don’t want me to find peace. You want me to find peace, as long as I worship the same God as you. If I don’t, your “all loving” God will “find me” and punish me FOREVER, because I found “peace” outside of him.
Thankfully it’s very likely that none of what you say is true. As you said, I find the Bible foolish. Anything that prides itself on being seen as a fool isn’t something I want to be a part of.

“Yes, we are to marry and we are not to marry …” Haha, enough said.
“It is not my “job” to prove the bible is correct … it proves itself … it is my “job” to correctly understand it.”
There you have it folks, arguing with a religious person summed up in one sentence. The Bible proves that the Bible is true because the Bible says that the Bible is true. Summed up even shorter, “once you accept that the Bible is true, you’ll realize that the Bible is true.”
“I have on a number of occasions made posts to you and you have not responded. I will respond tomorrow if time allows. I need to get up early tomorrow and that takes presidence over this …”
Well that’s a major cop out. I have talked with you a few times, and I’m obviously responding to you now so if you have directed posts at me and I haven’t responded, it’s not because I’m deliberately avoiding you.
Maybe the reason you think I”m not responding to you, is because when we are talking, you come at me with what you are doing now. A bunch of claims, no explanations and you will “tell me if you have time.” Well I’m a busy person too, and if I have a point to make, I will take a few minutes to make the point. I won’t take the time to make a post making claims, and then not back up those claims saying, “I don’t have time.”
I’m not going to babysit your posts and continually check back to see if you “made time” to explain yourself.

I always laugh when the religious say that atheists are the arrogant, egotistical know it alls.
This coming from the people who say the universe was created with us in mind, and that even if we find happiness, if it’s outside of their religious belief, there is something wrong with us.

If calling atheism a religion makes you feel better, so be it.
No sane person looks at atheism and says it’s a religion.
There is no ONE book that all atheists read and appeal to in every discussion
We don’t worship anyone or anything
The overwhelming majority of atheists don’t get together on a specific day of the week and hear a message about atheism.
There are no customs or traditions that we pass down or actively participate in

Jobs Jobs Jobs right?
Oh wait……..
Actually it’s anti gay marriage, the “war” on Christmas and anti abortion. The party of “jobs” rarely focuses on jobs.
