  • I DID NOT HEAR Obama say he didn’t know about the IRS scandal. I heard him say he wasn’t aware of the IG report.
Remember Bill Clinton? “Depends on that the definition of (is) is”

  • I’m not sure that I would categorize a horse as “not meant for food” or otherwise, but I agree with your premise. God expects us to be good stewards of his creation. That stewardship will be judged both in action and what’s in our hearts. He puts us in that stewardship position and expects us to carry out our duties righteously.

  • No doubt animals are slaughtered before we “grill them”. I think the manner or attitude we go about doing so means something. What this man did didn’t help his cause, and what he did didn’t help his soul either.
I’m a meat eater, but I pray over my meals and recognize where it comes from and the sacrifice made to bring it to me. A dead animal is dead regardless how they ended up that way. This is more about this man’s state of mind than it is what he did.

  • I understand what you are saying, but I think you are forgetting that the programmer does not benefit by charging too much for their programming. They are motivated by the market to price their goods at maximum price/volume ratio to get the most money they can. So, while they might try to charge more at first, the market will drive pricing down. Hulu, iTunes, and others have already shown this. Because of their footprint in the market, this will all boil down to pay-per-view on series or individual shows backed by a subscription for syndicated content that profits more in that model vs. pay per view. (i.e., the crap we get on Netflix). Once all content has followed this model, there will also be a choice to go ad free or with ads–ad free being much more expensive.

This will happen. DVR is driving this already. Models like Hulu that insert forced advertising into their shows are more attractive to advertisers. Advertisers are overpaying now for commercial air time and they know it–all due to the fact that most of us DVR and fast forward right through their paid air time. As a result, program owners are being pushed to either drop their price or come up with a delivery method that gives the advertiser more exposure. A La Carte with ad discounted purchase availability offers that—AND it offers a more trackable metric for advertising that gives the advertiser a real view of their market exposure and saturation…its all a guess in today’s environment.

  • This should prove once and for all to all you clowns on the blaze that GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL.

ok…I was just trying to get ahead of the trolls. Global warming is in fact real. So is global cooling…and it has been around long before man, so get off my back Al Gore! I like my SUV.

  • Geraldo is a tool. He would have been better off staying in talk show land with Maury reading out paternity results.

  • @sendthemeteors
I don’t mean to oversimplify the complicated, but the federal budget is so convoluted that the only sane answer when it comes to cuts is across the board percentages. Anything short of that creates a special interest war and an endless prioritization argument. I think you cap spending relative to GDP, and then assign percentages of total spend between discretionary and non-discretionary spending. The pie is the pie relative to the cap, and the government should live and die against it just like the rest of the states do in the union.
I think the reason why there is a shortage of proposed cuts coming from the Tea Party is simple…they are being just as vaguely tactical as the opposition. To bring out specifics while the other side dwells in lollipops and unicorns is to set yourself up for a media takedown of getting lost in the weeds. Ergo, my comment about warring and division above.

  • I would just add…that this is a real head-scratching moment for even the most uninformed of viewers/voters. The very implication that Mika needs to take a stand and call this a lie, and then say it is her job to point out lies all the while not confronting any of the multitude of whoppers Obama told in that debate is the height of contradiction.

  • At the end of this clip (yes, somehow I listened to the whole thing despite having breakfast just before clicking on it) one of the pundits says Romney’s answer about women being able to have flex hours to come home to cook or take care of their children would be “offensive” to some women. That left me scratching my head..what women are going to be put off by that? Are we seriously at a point in this society where kids should sit in abandoned homes fixing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for themselves because parenting is less important than corporate goals? This is what the left stands for? AND that’s standing up for the middle class???
What the hell is the middle class as they define it? If they are talking about blue collar workers, then they are the ones out of touch. The “blue collar” workers have a much higher birthrate than others in America. They are the MOST likely to need these types of concessions from their employers if both parents are working. In many cases, a family is “middle class” for the same reason I am: My wife made a conscious decision to stay home for our children while I work. I make a good living, but I’m competing financially with two-parent households. If my wife were even making 50% of my pay and working, we could no longer really consider ourselves “middle class”.
So, Mika, who of these candidates is really “out of touch” with the middle class? HMMM?

  • One of the most disturbing points for me in the debate last night was when Biden said we have plenty of time with Iran because they don’t have a “missile to deliver the payload”.
    1. Is the plan to wait that long? wow.
    2. Does any reasonable person think that Iran or any other rogue country is going to detonate a nuclear bomb via missile these days? No…even a hack like me knows that if we see a detonation (especially terrorist sponsored) it will come by much quieter means.
    Very disturbing..

If you think that is “fighting the good fight”, then please tell me whose side you are on – Iran or the US?
