  I believe there were angels at the crash site. Many years ago my Mom had a near-death experience during open-heart surgery where-in she was briefly transported to heaven, spoke with Jesus, saw and spoke with relatives and learned the name of her grandchild born the same day. She kept this to herself for a long time, fearing that she would be called crazy (or worse). When she revealed it to me, I was surprised, but not shocked, having known that her heart stopped during the surgery for some time and they had to resuscitate her. During this time, she discussed with Jesus whether she would go back to suffer the very difficult, painful and time consuming recovery, where-in she decided that she would do that. One of the comments she later made was that “there are so many things we don’t yet know” which I translated to include that she was forbidden from revealing much of what she had seen and heard. Another thing she said which kinda made the hair on my neck stand up was “You know the streets really ARE paved with gold!” And until her death about three years later, she would occasionally hear wings rustling behind her as she walked about the house.

  It’s not for you to decide who is forgiven by God. Chips likely went thru hell and back while serving his country and you have no idea what went on there. If Chips believes in Jesus and asks forgiveness in His name it WILL be granted – no question about it.
