  • What do you have against hogs???

  • Chicago and DC residents could not even own a gun until the law was overturned. Now you can own a gun in Chicago – you just can’t use it.

  • @ Sol
That’s the problem – Chicago doesn’t have it under control. We’ve had decades of liberal government and the most strict gun control laws in the country and the body count keeps climbing. Their idea of a solution is more of the same only bigger – tighter gun restrictions and more control of the populous.

  • @ Sol
I wonder how the poll about disarming the police would pan out among US police officers. Are you saying we should disarm the cops here? Yeah, that’ll work! Here in Chicago we have had 500 murders this year, 2/3 of them gang related. We have 60,000 gang members in the city. They have guns. They probably won’t be at the head of line to exchange them for gift cards.

  • You also need to examine population density. In Australia there are about 3 people per square KM. In the US it’s about 34. In Australia even if you wanted to shoot someone you’d first have to find them! In the US I may not know my neighbor but at least I can see him.

  • This year in Chicago we have had almost 500 murders to date. 2/3 have been gang related. There are over 60,000 gang members in the city alone – not counting the suburbs. How many of you think that passing a law will make the gang bangers say “Well if it’s illegal I guess I’ll go turn in my piece.)? I don’t think so either. Gun laws only disarm the law abiding citizens not the criminals.

I have recently started to really pity progressives: they live their lives in fear; they feel they are powerless to control their own destiny; they need things to be provided for them. It may not be PC but I’m an American. I love my country and my Constitution. I provide for myself and my family without government help. I could have retired years ago but didn’t. I pay for my own insurance, run my own business and own my own Glock. If anyone wants to change any of this their lives will get more interesting.

  • OMG! Most people posting here call themselves “conservatives”. Let’s see – nothing but the truth here! We never went to the moon but reverse engineer alien spacecraft in Area 51. The LEM was actually a transformer. Everyone in NASA has been lying for 50 years and took those lies to the grave.

Maybe the left is actually right – we are idiots!

  • Think for a moment how close he came to being President. That ought to empty your bowels!

  • Mepu perhaps you need to study the history of the early Christian church and get back to us! Maybe check the origin of some of the biblical quotes everyone is so eager to toss around. See how many of them actually had there origins hundreds of years after the fact and then conveniently fit into some political agenda. But don’t feel bad. Most religions have had their teachings translated from language to language often losing their original meaning in the process. As an example – you probably think Jesus was a carpenter. He probably wasn’t. The word used to describe his trade was most often used to describe a stone mason. But in the long term what difference does it make. After all it’s the message that’s important.

  • I’m 63 years old, raised Roman Catholic and married to a lovely Jewish woman. I studied eastern religions in college and followed my natural curiosity about religion all my life. Over that time I have learned one thing: God is like a multi-faceted crystal hanging in the sky. Every religion looking from a slightly different perspective sees Him in a slightly different way. None are completely right and none are completely wrong. Each has their own view and their version of the true face of God. What I have done is to try to glean the truth from each and to understand the errors of each. To say that Mormons or any religion are wrong because of their beliefs is to not understand their view of God and their understanding of His relationship to man. So before you are so quick to judge, try to stretch your mind and stretch your understanding.
