Teen Atheist Behind Prayer Mural Ban Addresses Critics: ‘I’m Defending Their Constitution Too’
January 27, 2012 at 11:55am
We need to take a step back and look at this issue from a greater perspective. If we truly had a robust free market school system in this country (no Department of Education, no public schools and/or real private school choice), parents could choose any type of school that fits their philosophy. We have a public school monopoly that unions and government protects creating a one size fits all. This model has made us as a people very divisive.
Also, the first amendment is freedom of religion not freedom from religion and freedom of association/non-association. I would say that if she wants to put up a banner expressing her atheist philosophy she should have equal right to do so. There should be no outcry since there is a school prayer banner being displayed. This should satisfy both parties and satisfy the equality that government and government funded institutions must uphold.
Does This Latest Decision by the Fed Foreshadow Future Plans for the Economy?

KIDCHARLEMAGNE: Your post is a good exhibit of Andrew Jackson’s position on Fiat Currency but please realize that this doesn’t paint the entire picture of Jackson’s position of US monetary policy. Jackson didn’t want a fiat system in the hands of a private corporation (like the Federal Reserve of today). He wanted a fiat system directly in the hands of our central government so that they can directly control the money supply. This is quite like the same position that Dennis Kucinich (democrat congressman from OH 10th district) holds. All fiat currency systems are a bad idea from the start regardless of who controls them and they are all destined to collapse.
Supreme Court Rules GPS Tracking Requires a Warrant
January 23, 2012 at 1:10pm
Although I am delighted by the decision of the Supreme Court, I believe law enforcement will continue to usurp our natural rights (ie 4th amendment) through the Patriot Act (law enforcement agents can write their own search warrants) and the National Authorization Defense Act (detain lawful residents and citizens indefinitely).

EDUCATEDOWL: I ask that you stay and post. I know it is exhausting and frustrating but please find the courage and energy to do so. In one way, “The truth lives here” can still be valid as long as folks like you are still posting what you in your heart and mind believe to be the truth.

XXOAX: It is obvious that you missed the facts of the article and cannot see the differences of what is being done today with regard to our military versus the actions taken on the Barbary Pirates. Since it has slipped your grasp, please allow me to discern the differences.
Two previous Presidents exhausted all avenues of diplomacy. Jefferson took swift action against the Pirates and he brought the ships home with no nation building! Today we have over 900 bases in over 100 countries. We are at war (active military engagements) with at least 6 nations worldwide (Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Pakistan, Yemen, Uganda, other African nations, etc.) We also spend money that we don’t have in the order of trillions to “democratize” and rebuild countries in which significant factions of those nations do not welcome us there (and in fact call us occupiers).
Please let me know where I went wrong. Humbly…..

These Are the Videos of Rick Santorum Getting Booed For His Gay Marriage Comments
January 6, 2012 at 5:40pm
Amen SILENTWATCHER! It is a natural right and written as part of the 1st Amendment to the Constitution as freedom of association (or disassociation). This means that your freedom to choose (or not to choose) whom you associate with is a part of your freedom of expression. The government cannot restrict or take this away even if it wishes to do so. Heterosexuals (myself included) better wake up and realize that if government officials can decide what groups can get married, one day your group may be next. This is not a hard stretch since you are required to get a marriage license from your state. Have you ever questioned why you need a license to get married? Since the state grants you a license, they can also deny you a license. We do not have the right to trample on someone else’s right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness even their personal views differs from ours as long is it is not hurting another person.
Did You Read About the Shrewd Move the Ron Paul Camp Pulled Last Night?
January 4, 2012 at 1:13pm
I humbly urge you to refrain from emotional blathering and wreck-less, inane conspiracy. Please back up your statements. Please show the board proof that Obama democrats registered republican just to vote for RP.
Do you really think it matters if Obama gets re-elected versus voting for another liberty trampling, big government progressive on the Republican ticket like Santorum, Romney, or Gingrich? Do you understand that you are only giving yourself a chance to vote for a radical progressive (Obama) versus a republican progressive? Sure, one will destroy the US at a faster pace (Obama) with our horrible Congress, but both will ultimately destroy this Republic that our Founders died and paid blood so that you, my fellow citizen, and the rest can be free? Please let me know where I went wrong.
Also, thank you OKIE, JMILLER and others who posted the truth about Rick Santorum. I hope and pray the rest of this board wake up!
As a final note, once again the Blaze has titled their story dishonestly saying the RP camp committed a “sly move”. To the Blaze, can you actually explain what the RP camp did wrong or was sly? I call what they did just exercising democracy to be represented. Glenn Beck, you were butchered on Fox News by pundits, critics twisting your words and actions and now you are letting the same thing happen to another person. I say this is shameful and I ask you to return to your truthful insightful reporting.
Eric Cantor Answers Why He Believes the Majority of Jews Are Democrats
January 3, 2012 at 2:53pm
As a Jew (and well read one), I felt compelled to clarify some of the uninformed posts. Some of the posters did a good job of enlightening/clarifying the points made on this board. There are three particular posters I want to address:
OOKSPAY: Jews by definition must believe in the individual or they are not Jewish. It is a fundamental premise of Judaism. Please read the Old Testament before making such uninformed comments. As one example, the Jewish tribes were broken down to clans and all the way to family units. Issues were usually taken care of at the most local level. (Hmmm – Sounds like the way our Constitution was set up?)
CHRYSOSTOM: Please see the following link to set the record straight regarding your Jewish-Bolshevism comment. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_Bolshevism Your comment is nothing more than Polish Propaganda. According to the 1922 party census, there were 19,564 Jewish Bolsheviks, comprising 5.21% of the total. In the 1920s, of the 417 members of the Central Executive Committee, the party Central Committee, the Presidium of the Executive of the Soviets of the USSR and the Russian Republic, the People’s Commissars, 6% were ethnic Jews. I ask you to stop spreading this nonsense.
Techengineer11: As others have noted, Nazis were not conservatives, they were leftists (liberals) albeit, right of left. Communism/Nazism/Fascism are all leftists/statist governments based on central planning and the collective rather than individualism
