I thought Jim Carrey was a Canadian. He may prefer the gun laws of Canada. But as a foreigner in the US he may have a right to comment on American policy, but he is a very poor guest. Do you think Obama might deport him?

If the Vietnamese had bombed Washington and we had shot down their planes, would we still have them as a memorial in the capitol? By having the teens sing about the glorious Communist Party and its one path that all should follow, Americans got a glimpse of that nation. Many here might laugh, but what would happen if a VN laughed? The show presented the various foods, average people walking along, the heavy traffic of mopeds, and other sites of their capital city. Clearly, VN is not the police state of North Korea; but clearly it is a one-party state. No one seems to be starving, in a nation that suffered more bombs than did Europe in WWII. I suspect economic life for the average VN is better today than in 1970. Can that be said of the average American today?

When Michele Bachmann was a guest on Fallon’s TV show, his band greeted her with “Lying Ass Bitch.” Fallon should have been fired that week. Would he have greeted Michelle Obama with such an insulting song?
Leno jokes about Republicans AND Democrats, including Obama. That is offensive to the leaders of NBC. So Leno must go, and reliable Democrat Fallon will replace him. I watch Leno. I will not watch Fallon.

In some countries with Sunday voting, the flock follows the priest from church to the polls to vote. In Louisiana, where Saturday voting occurs, Orthodox Jews complained they could vote only after sunset till polls closed. Note how many riots occur in Muslim nations after mosque. One can consider the values espoused in religious institutions when voting. But one should not be swept up in the emotion following a sermon, and marched to the polls by a shepherd. One should consider the sermon AND reflect on other things. By having the vote on Tuesday, people may cast a more deliberate, rational vote.

Sickening. All over the Muslim world churches have been torched, Christians killed. Now they turn on their Buddhist minority. The Taliban in Afghanistan some years ago destroyed used cannon to destroy huge statues of Buddha that were in a mountain and hundreds of years old. They think that nothing that preceded their prophet is worth keeping. Some in Egypt have spoken of destroying the pyramids.
Islam is proving itself the enemy of mankind.
In the West, we should not appease them with their demands of shariah law, or an end of free speech. Islam is a fanatical religion that seems determined to destroy the best of civilization.

The hate mongers are not the film makers. The little I saw of it was more like a bad Saturday Night Live show. Did you ever see “Life of Bryan”? It was a spoof of Christianity. Some Christians may have been offended, but killed no one. Same with “Last Temptation of Christ.”
The hate mongers are the Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters – including a prominent advisor to Sec. of State H. Clinton. The hate mongers are the Egyptian MB who called for the extermination of Israel and all Jews. The hate mongers are the Egyptian Muslims who, after Arab Spring, burnt churches and killed Christians. They apparently crucified a Christian a week ago. Yet, these hate mongers were hailed by Pres. Obama. The US govt. grants Egypt, dominated by the MB, over a billion dollars in “aid.” The hate mongers are Obama and H. Clinton who prefer to destroy America’s First Amendment, free speech, to appease the hate-America Muslims. Obama-Clinton appease murderous Muslims, even to the point of seeking to stop free speech in America.
While we in the US still have freedom, we should use it in November to oust the anti-Western, anti-American, pro-Muslim Brotherhood crowd in the White House.

Clinton gave a terrific speech. He presented an emotional, rational, approach to answering the GOP question, “Are you better today than 4 years ago?” Using his hands to illustrate, he maintained Obama’s policies provided a base that saved many, a base upon which to grow. Moreover, Obama saved us from a severe depression.
I strongly opposed the Obama Administration. However, to ignore Clinton’s performance is stupid. His presentation must be answered, and not by Charles’s dismissive comments. If R & R cannot answer the Clinton presentation – and it will be repeated in ads – then the GOP will lose.
To the Republicans I urge: start working on a reply to Bill Clinton!

The anti-Catholicism was vicious in the 1928 campaign. Republican Hoover was a Quaker, and one wonders if he had not been running against Catholic Democrat Smith, if Hoover might not have felt the sting of some of the religious bigots. Strangely, the next time a Catholic ran, Democrat John Kennedy also ran against a Quaker Republican, Richard Nixon, The Catholic won than in 1960.
Though because of the religious issue Al Smith lost some Southern states that had not voted Republican since Reconstruction, he gained Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Also the popular vote for Smith and the Democrats in 1928 was about double the popular vote for the Protestant Democrat Davis who ran in 1924.

All the dogs packed together on the road in China. What if there were an accident? But then how many illegal aliens were in the pick-up truck that had an accident in the US the other day? If we had a secure border, we would not have crowded illegal alien vehicles.
Someone noted, Hindus might be appalled at the killing of cattle in the US. Some say that is humane killing. What about kosher killing, when the blood must ooze out of the living animal? Is hallal butchery similar?
Cultures do differ on numerous issues, including food. It would be nice if all butcher were humane. Yet, in the US I have seen crabs placed in a large pot, which is placed on a fire to boil. We are not always humane either.
