  Interesting “conversation” about Santa Claus. I support everyone telling their children what they believe. I am also a born again believer which some say is a myth, but that’s okay too. It has no bearing on what I believe. We raised two into adulthood and they have made decisions on their own to follow Jesus. I say these things so you have a sliver of where I am coming from. We home educated and did not have any outside television for 25 years, so our kids were free to explore the world without pop culture being any real part of our lives.

  We made the decision to allow for the Santa Claus story because it originates from a real person. A Christ follower from the 3rd century. The true story is about giving to others less fortunate than ourselves out of a heart of gratitude for what Jesus gave. There is no place for the “Madison Ave” Santa Claus in the home of faithful Christians, but to teach our children about a saint of our faith is good and right. It is possible within this historical context to have wonder and imagination-which I believe comes from God. The way we celebrated did not create a dissonance for our kids according to their own testimony. They felt our Christmas celebrations were rich and Christ focused and will be doing the same with their children. I am posting a link that has good info even though I am not of the Orthodox faith.   There have been MUCH worse. Factor in all the elements-aging, rocker singing acapella out in the cold and you have the best he could do. I think his intentions were good. Personally I think they should use someone from the locale the games are played in or a musician from within our military. I’m not saying Steve Tyler did this in any way, but we do not need big headed celebrities like Roseanne diminishing or soiling our anthem with their screwed up politics.

  Frankie only has a platform because his dear parents Francis and Edith built it. He is taking advantage of this because no one would listen to him if he didn’t have his parents to stand on. He is just like Ron Reagan Jr-nobodies without the great ones that went before. Too bad their mothers are still alive to see this garbage.

  Has anyone here ever seen Mika shopping at Walmart or Target? I am CERTAIN she and everyone else around that table shops at high end stores simply because they can! So what is the problem with others who make the choice to spend their personally earned dollars where ever they want? Liberals make me sick.
