  • Freedomlover_US – you are ignorant and don’t even know what it takes to pronounce something infallible.

  • This has become a site for the nasty people to post. For anyone who finds Catholic posts hilarious, you are not worth responding to.

  • The figure among the Protestant clergy ranges between 2 and 3 percent.

  • Freedomlover_US – below are some facts. Your post has made me not want to post here again.

According to a 2000 report to the Baptist General Convention in Texas, “The incidence of sexual abuse by clergy has reached ‘horrific proportions.’” It noted that in studies done in the 1980s, 12 percent of ministers had “engaged in sexual intercourse with members” and nearly 40 percent had “acknowledged sexually inappropriate behavior.” The report concluded that “The disturbing aspect of all research is that the rate of incidence for clergy exceeds the client-professional rate for physicians and psychologists.”[xix] Regarding pornography and sexual addiction, a national survey disclosed that about 20 percent of all ministers are involved in the behavior.[xx]

In the spring of 2002, when the sexual abuse scandal in the Catholic Church was receiving unprecedented attention, the Christian Science Monitor reported on the results of national surveys by Christian Ministry Resources. The conclusion: “Despite headlines focusing on the priest pedophile problem in the Roman Catholic Church, most American churches being hit with child sexual-abuse allegations are Protestant, and most of the alleged abusers are not clergy or staff, but church volunteers.” Finally, in the authoritative work by Penn State professor Philip Jenkins, Pedophiles and Priests, it was determined that between .2 and 1.7 percent of priests are pedophiles. The figure among the Protestant clergy r

  • You are right. I am about at the point of not reading The Blaze anymore. It is not only how they have reported on Pope Francis, but it is all the anti-Catholic posts. In a time when we should be united as Christians and Conservatives, I find the comments very disturbing. Thank you for your post.

  • Perhaps you could say the exact same thing about Jesus. Jesus gave us an example of humble service and that is what the Pope was doing. Knock the Pope and you knock Jesus’ example!!!!!

  • In this time when we have an administration and educational system trying to remove God and desensitize people by stomping on the written word JESUS, can we, as Conservatives not bash anyone’s religion?? Can we unite against the evil that is threatening America in every direction? There are much bigger battles coming. Wait and see what this Pope does. What ever denomination you are, keep Jesus as your center. Support other Christians. If the Vatican falls, so be it, but for Heaven’s sake, stop knocking each other and remain united against real evil. Catholics will still be centered on Jesus no matter what happens, just as other denominations will be also. Having said that, I am hoping for a Christ centered Pope to lead as Jesus would have him lead. Time will tell.

  • Max jones – I don’t know who you talk to, but for Catholics the main focus is on Jesus, in the Mass, in the Eucharist. We don’t worship the Pope, period! I wish people would stop talking for Catholics, especially when they don’t know what they are talking about. As far as the end times goes, I don’t know what will happen, but for me as a Catholic, Jesus will always be the center, right to the end.

  • seek.the.truth – lets start turning that around on them.

  • Would a Christian University boycott a Progressive speaker?? Its time they did exactly that. Why did ND have Obama as a speaker?? If its a Liberal college, can a few Conservatives demand a Liberal speaker not come?? This is getting more absurb every day. Can’t they hear the other side? Are they really tolerant? Christians and Conservatives seem to be very tolerant. I’d call that stupid. Its time we demand our rights too, just as loudly as they do.
