  We are England warming up in the bullpen. England at one time was the center of the evangelical world, sending missionaries around the world. Great preachers like Spurgeon at his Tabernacle.Now it is just a shell of what it once was. We in America are marching in that direction. We still have strong churches but the influence that they have has certainly waned. I have been a Baptist preacher for 25 plus years. I am saddened by the direction we are headed in but know also if these are the last days things are just as the Bible said it would be. There is a falling away. Romans 1 is a commentary for society. The church has become Laodicea, thinking itself to be rich because of its goods. Yet regardless, there are some of us who will fight the good fight. We will not be conformed to this world. We will stand for the truth regardless of personal consequences. As Martin Luther is have to had said, “Here I stand. I can do no other.”

  How do we look at the state of our country we these horrible incidents and blame the vehicle used to bring about the desired ends of these maniacs? We have a horrible horrible problem in our country. A lack of the respect for life is rampant. Whether it is done on a tv screen with a video game, in a school, or in an abortion clinic, we have lost our respect for life.

  I was a member of fbc hammond in the 80s. Other that relation through marriage there was a night day difference between Pastor Hyles and Schaap. Hyles was an honest decent man who was falsely accused of things by disgruntled church members. Schaap who never should have been pastor there in the first place has had his share of controversy and problems since becoming pastor. shocked. a little bit. saddened definitely.

  What gives us the right to redefine what God has defined. God told Jeremiah He knew him in the womb and yet we say it’s not a life just a tissue mass and abort it. God had sodomites in Israel stoned and yet even though the practice stopped God didn’t have a change of mind. Adulterers were also stoned, didn’t make that right either. Marriage and the home is a man and a woman raising children. Yet we have turned that all around. 40 percent of children aren’t born into a traditional home. Ephesians 5 tells us what the home should be. Paul wrote if a man doesn’t work he shouldn’t eat. We have rejected God’s word and get whatever comes are way.

  What chart can explain away 8 percent unemployment, 11 percent real unemployment, 2 credit rating reductions, a failed (miserably) foreign policy, Iran, Libya, Egypt, etc. turning our back on Israel trillions of dollars of debt, fast and furious, obamacare, loss of personal wealth of the middle class by over four grand, highest number of people on food stamps, and so on. that had to be one heck of a chart.
