  Several problems here. 1. self reporting: I have friends who swear they are conservative and in my opinion they are left of center. It is an “eye of the beholder” problem. And 2. Conservatives have problems defining themselves, some conservatives slam others as extremists for being Pro-Life or too-Libertarian or being Constitutionalists. Defining what is Liberal or Conservative is hard choices. I’m a Constitutionalist Libertarian and my son is a Conservative with what can only be described as a Liberal on the Social issues. Frankly the whole political spectrum has shifted to the Left over the last 40 years so far that a Conservative today is the zone occupied by a left of center Democrat in 1960, and a die in the wool Republican of that era would be considered nearly an Anarchist today. Labels have become meaningless and the paradym has shifted with no center poles. God help the “Conservatives” today who really have lost their vision of the role of government and personal freedom. Any “conservative” who would vote for the end to Posse Comitatis or in install another traffic camera has lost his way.

  I love it when they have gun-buy-backs: our tax dollars at work disarming the ignorant and stupid. I love when liberals speak out against guns….cause I know they will be the first to die or beg a gun owner to protect them in an emergency. I know my feelings are cold but it is literally about to hit the Evolutionary Cycle where the Survival of the Fittist is the rule.

  Yep, the words are important and the author also. George Mason pushed tirelessly and eventually succeeded in convincing the Federalists to add the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution. These Amendments, known as the Bill of Rights, were based on the earlier Virginia Declaration of Rights, which Mason had drafted in 1776. In his writings on his own words in the 2nd Amendment, George Mason said: “What is the Militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.” So don’t get hung up in the Militia thing, that is an argument the left truely loves you to engage in. The Rights of the PEOPLE are found in the Bill of Rights and these rights were meant to protect the PEOPLE from the Goverment, these are NEGATIVE in the sense that the Government can NOT tell us what our religion will be, can NOT tell us to shut up when we disagree with it, can NOT take our guns, can NOT station soldiers in our homes , can not

  RC30: the media is in “That Guy’s” pocket. Who says”that guy” can’t round us up and get away with it ? The media will just not report it, thus it never gets on “the world stage”…..The population knew about the ovens, the gulags and the mass graves……never in the papers though. The media does not report stories of CCW stops robbery (or school shooting), why do we expect the world stage will hear about “millions of mentally ill gun owners arrested and held indefinitely without charge, millions of murderous firearms and billions of poison tipped killer rounds confiscated in overnight raids” ? (Sarcasm intended)
