Network Releases Statement on Pat Robertson’s Controversial Advice to Cheated-On Women

How the heck is flipping out over adultery the straw that breaks the camels back in the marriage? Hint: Your marriage would be much less likely to need saving if you DON”T COMMIT ADULTERY TO BEGIN WITH.
No man who cheats on his wife can possibly blame his wife for destroying the marriage when he is the one who did it. Anyone who blames the wife for being upset about it is just trying to excuse his own guilty conscience.

Our culture is determined by our actions. If you want to change the culture, you have to change what you do. If you want women to be submissive, you have to love them as Christ loved the Church. Because they are only commanded to be submissive as we follow the counsels of our Father in Heaven. If we don’t follow what the Lord teaches, their obligation becomes following Him for themselves.
The scriptures teach us that the husband is to be the head of the family. But they also teach that we aren’t to lead the way the Gentiles lead. We don’t force people into obeying us. We lead by serving them. We lead through persuasion, long-suffering, meekness, kindness, gentleness, love unfeigned, and without guile. Christ taught us how to lead.
So humble yourself and submit to the Lord. And then serve your wife and your children. Lose yourself in that service and you will be blessed. Or you can choose to be selfish and deny yourself the blessings the Lord has for you as well as the peace and joy you could have as you get older.

The problem he has is this is hardly the first time he has ‘miscommunicated”. And this is a pretty darn big miscommunication. He didn’t even answer the question.
Excusing the behavior of men as if we have no agency is insulting to both men and women. God has given us free will. Just because we may face temptations doesn’t mean God wont lead us away. And His focus in his response should have been Christ.
Whether he is a man of God or not, ill leave up to God. I know that’s what he claims But that is no excuse for this. The network shouldn’t be apologizing either. He should.

It doesn’t matter what his intent was. What he said was unChristian. He essentially blamed her for the infidelity. “He’s a man.”? That’s utter nonsense. Just because he is a man doesn’t mean he can cheat. He has his free agency. All men do. We are free to follow God or to live another life. We can choose whether to be faithful to our wives or not. And it doesn’t matter if they are faithful. If our wives are doing something they shouldn’t, we should be the example and show greater love.
We men are supposed to love our wives as Christ loves the Church. That means we are to serve our wives. We are to be willing to sacrifice for them, even to the point of giving up our lives in service to them. If we are cheating on them, we aren’t just betraying them in the most horrible manner imaginable, but we are ignoring or God given duties and betraying the Lord as well.
And the answer to the question he was asked, is that we can be healed through the Atonement of Christ. The Atonement of Christ can heal all things, even the most brutal of betrayals. Sometimes it takes prayer. Sometimes it takes fasting with that prayer. Sometimes we just need to start serving the people who betrayed us. Sometimes it takes nights of pleading for the healing that comes from the Atonement. But one thing is certain, it will come. Christ can heal all things, emotional, physical, or spiritual. We need to do our best to serve Him, and the best way to do that is to serve others.

If Mexican’s were seeking assylum for the religious freedom to teach their children, then yes we would support them. Of course, in order to be eligible for assylum the government they are feeling from would have to be actively preventing them from exercising their religious freedom in teaching their children.
Does the Mexican government oppose home schooling like the German government does? If not, then there is no basis for the Assylum. But if so, then they should be given Assylum
Why do you racists presume that because you treat people different based on race and ethnicity that everyone you don’t like does also? Human rights are human rights regardless of what color your skin is and what nation you live in.

They sought assylum for religious freedom to home school their children. And we should welcome them and anyone else seeking religious freedom and parents who are taking responsibility for the teaching of the next generation. We need more people who will honor their responsibilities and less people who want the government to do whatever they want.
Government indoctrination is always wrong and that’s all you get if you rely on the government to fulfill your parental obligations.

When are people going to realize when you keep the commandments of God, you prosper in the land. When you don’t, you don’t.
Our society has reached a point where we are not keeping the commandments. That is why the we are not prospering. That is why the economy is stagnant. Our economic downturn is the direct results of ignoring the commandments to be honest and not covet.
When we realize we prosper by trying to serve others, we end up living the way God wants us to live and money will come.
But how many peope are willing to work 6 days a week to bless others? How many people are willing to actually rest as the Lord teaches us on the 7th?
