they should of called it Gilgamesh, then that way no one would argue with the premise,….they only called it noah because they knew it would piss of religious people,…THIS IS THEIR ONLY TRICK, THE ONLY GIMMICK HOLLYWOOD HAS USED FOR THE LAST 40 YEARS,…..is to get the name out by causing controversy, and they do that by offending religious people…constantly pushing the envelope…to see how much more they can get away with.
That's a valid point. Yet if they called it "The Epic of Gligamesh," most people would scratch their heads at it...Yet throw in the Bible reference, and everyone knows it...Making money off of Christianity..Liberals hate it, but if they see $$ out of it, they're all for it.

as Chistians we must understand that our experiences in our walk with Christt will never be anything apart from what Christ experienced…..and one of the things he experienced was severe persecution,..to me the rapture seems a little overly optimistic,…to think that histories least faithful Christians will easily avoid all the worlds hatred is a stretch,…seems like getting off easy to me, which is why its so popular an idea,… I worry that if the rapture does not happen before the persecution, will most of those with weak faith , lose faith completely?
ive known for years that some grimey hate filled muslim was gonna cut my head off , in the middle of some street for my refusal to reject the witness of Christ, and im okay with that,…
but another part of me says that the rapture could be the very event that allows for the unleashing of evil and its final plans…..either way, im greatful
..to think that histories least faithful Christians will easily avoid all the worlds hatred is a stretch...
Let me stop you right there. This will be as in the days of Noah. The flood came from Heaven, not earth. Maybe you need to search the Scriptures more diligently. I say that in love.
It's pretty easy to find in the Bible...the word "rapture" does not appear, but this references that event. 1Thess.4:14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
@krypt.........."This will be as in the days of Noah."
Matthew 24:38 For as they were inthose days before the Flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 39. and they took no note until the Flood came and swept them away, so the presence of the Som
n of man will be. THEY TOOK NO NOTE also Luke 17: 26,27.
Also Like 17:20 ......."The Kingdom of God is not coming with striking observableness; 21. nor will people say, 'See here! or 'There! For look! the Kingdom of God is in your midst."
@renovationist That was to comfort the ones that still remain..that their loved ones would be raised first..It does not save us from the Great Tribulations..In Mat 24. the apostles asked about the end times. He told them that they would be delivered up, persecuted and killed for his sake. Matthew 24:29 Immediately "After" the Tribulation of those days..the sign of the son of man will be seen coming in the clouds. He will gather his elect from heaven, and he will have his angels hold back the four winds of the earth until his servants are sealed upon their foreheads..then he will pour out his bowls of wrath upon the earth..The Great Tribulation is the dominion of Satan.Revelation 13:7 Killing of the saints and the New World Order.
God's wrath takes place after the Great Tribulation..
Ashes the disciples were delivered up, persecuted and killed for his name's sake, just as many Christians since have been and continue to be. Revelation 13 is talking about the anti-Christ when Satan possesses him. Of course there is going to be an elect during the tribulation period the holy spirit isn't going to cease to inhabit people that give their life to Christ during that period. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 "the man of sin, the son of perdition" is revealed when "the one who holds him back is taken out of the way." Who is this restrainer holding back the revealing of the anti-christ if not the holy spirit in-dwelling believers?
The worry that some who are saved will fall away if they're forced by God to endure the pouring out of God's wrath is exactly why it is highly unlikely that he won't rapture them away, actually. In fact God would actually know whether that were to be the case.
If the church teaching about the Rapture were so harmful and there wasn't going to be one, why, then, scatter so many clues to it (and a few outright statements) through the Bible? Does God deceive? And why not even include something like Peter's warning against uniformitarianism and doubt of the second coming in 2 Peter (3? I think?) that in the last days people will come up with this Rapture nonsense... etc.?
The argument seems almost self-defeating to me. If the rapture teaching is wrong, then even if nobody had noticed (or thought) of it, then the risk that Christians would fall away would STILL be there (assuming anybody could actually fall away; it's actually not that simple if you read all the NT, but for sake of discussion).
Read and study the bible, what seems right to you is of no importance, it's what God says is our Great Hope. We are not appointed to God's wrath unleashed on this wicked world, just as Noah escaped God's judgement.
"Let me stop you right there. This will be as in the days of Noah. The flood came from Heaven, not earth."
Genesis 7:11 "In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened."
Genesis 8:2 "the fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;"
I searched the Scriptures and found that God not only made it rain, but He opened up the fountains of the deep.

…this is interesting, this is a chance for not only us federalists to prove we are a people of law , but also forces the progressives out of the shadows,…for too long the commies have been playing the moderate card,…its time for federalists to line up and take a side, while the progressives will have no choice but to back obama, and his rule by fiat…….i think this will bode well to expose progressivisms true form,.theyll be lining up on msnbc to pronounce that these silly constitutional rules dont count,…and that obama should override them….next step,…removal of the communists in government and media,….and back to the dark pages of philosophy for Marx and the hundreds of millions of deaths that his ideas have caused…
Of course he is. Just look at the way he has used the tax payer money for his and his family's entertainment. He's ballin' and the majority of Americans have been hustled. Even an Obama voter should be seeing that by now.

sad but true,….i know reagan was a darling to many, and his war on drugs was aconservative measure…but its time to abandon that,…the expansion of gov powers in the war on terror and the threat to our liberties we saw from it, ar nothing compared to expansion of gov powers and loss of liberty under the war on drugs,…..also, we need to understand that the anti-drug war movement is the only legitimate stance that the liberals hold in this country,……young college kids thoroughly convinced of the drug wars faults, and familiar with who instituted them (republicans) are then turned 1080 degrees into dangerous progressive ideology……..republicans and tea party must discard war on cannabis….

We shall, by and by, want a world of hemp more for our own consumption.”
- John Adams
“Make the most you can of the Indian Hemp seed and sow it everywhere.”
- George Washington
“Hemp is of first necessity to the wealth & protection of the country.”
- Thomas Jefferson “The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by the prohibition law. For nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced. It is an open secret that the dangerous increase of crime in this country is closely connected with this.”- Albert Einstein “It really puzzles me to see marijuana connected with narcotics . . . dope and all that crap. It’s a thousand times better than whiskey – it’s an assistant – a friend.”
- Louis Armstrong
Thats right. If people only knew how Washington and everyone else in that time grew hemp. Its a great plant. It harms NO ONE. You can make tons of stuff. And who cares if people smoke bud. Never killed anyone. Im all for regulation. Makes it safe. People (mostly neocons who love that America locks up more of its citizens than anyother civilized country in the world) have been brainwashed by the MSM. If pot were to be legal nation wide it would cut into the profits of the mediacl est. And thats a no no. So the same lies will keep being told. Wake up America 2012
