They claim it was a mistake. Well, a mistake is when you have a good intention and happen to make a faulty choice that leads you to do the wrong thing. That leads to immediate regret and sorrow. A sort of: “If I could do it all over again, I’d NEVER have chosen that route” kind of remorse.
THAT deserves the acceptance of a genuine apology.
But when someone does something on purpose and calls it a mistake, knowing full well what they are doing – and ignoring the fact it is either selfish or hurtful, that person or persons are really never sorry for what they’ve done… only that they’ve been caught. Apologies from people like that are worthless.
CBS didn’t make a “Mistake” in the Vietnam debacle on The Amazing Race, they made an “On Purpose”.
For that reason, their “apology” is worthless and makes me sick!
