  Hey mjayy, when someone gives you a gift, you don’t pay for it, or try to pay for it, its a gift! Jesus already paid the price for my sins and you want me to tell him sorry thats not enough? And why would you pray to Mary when you can pray directly to Jesus? To put her on the same level or above God is idolatry! There is not one verse in the Bible that says to pray to mary or anyone else! This is really simple stuff here. And yes I have asked other people to pray for me, people who are alive, not some long dead saint…

  @joboww: the our father, or the lords prayer was given to us as an outline for prayer, simply reciting the words of the written prayer is empty mantra, which borders on meditation that emptys the mind, this allowing room for the evil one to set up shop. The hail mary came from human thought and no matter how much you say is not, is a form of worship and praise to someone other than God or Christ. That my friend is idolatry. It doesn’t matter how many catholic apologetic websites you throw out there explaining why catholics do what they do, none of those dogmas are found in the Bible. Sorry thats the truth. The debate goes on as it always will because there is no defending the catholic faith against the truth of the bible. No one has ever shown the proof because they can’t. don’t ask me to defend the Word of God, thats what the Bible is for. The burden is on the catholics to defend their dogmas.

  Mjay. I don’t need a laundry list of reasons. 1 is enough. I’ll pick one randomly… going to a priest to ask forgiveness of sin and then having to do pennance is a slap to Jesus’ face. He already paid the price for me and to think I can add to that is heresy. The rosary is idoltry and so on and so on… one false teaching is enough for me to reject Catholicism.

  @ by faith: umm no. I don’t have to write a Bishop to be “uncatholiced” the only one I’m accountable to is Jesus. And to think that we’re haters is absurd when in fact we are trying to help you lift the veil to show you that the catholic church is full of false teachings and non biblical dogmas. Catholicism is a human created false religion and to beleive that the pope is infallible and the vicar of Christ is anathema. Be like the bereans and study the scriptures and you will see the truth in what I say. GOD bless.

  The curtain to the holiest of holies was torn in 2 from top to bottom the minute Jesus died on the cross, thus granting us direct access to God, meaningwe no longer had to first go to a priest. The catholic church still has priests in confessionals to “absolve” you of your sins. They urge you to pray to mary to go to God on your behalf and to pray to saints to intercede for us. That is a slap in the face of God and is a denial of scripture. Satan lloves this because so many are deceived. Our God is a jealous God, and hates it when we pray to anyone other than Him. Just sayin…

  @faith. Dave Hunts motivation is not hate, it is concern for our salvation. He has been called to out apostes and false teachers and religions, much like Christ did, as we know from scripture. And for those interested, there is a video on youtube called a woman rides the beast, its about an hour long.
